Jay-Z is in negotiations to become the naming rights to the Meadowland Arena in Jersey. Jay-Z owns a portion of the New Jersey Jets hopes to snag the rights to the arena name which is currently named under Continental Airlines.
However, the Hov has some competition his way….Clothing brands Izod and Southpole also seek to have the 26-year-old arena named after their flagship brands. The New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority (NJSEA) is handling bids for the naming rights. They said a new name for the famed arena could emerge as early as October 4th. The new owner will hold the rights to the arena’s name for two years, when the Nets move move to Brooklyn in 2009.
