LeBron James will make an appearance on the ‘Saturday Night Live’ season premiere. “I’m going to just wing it,” the Cavaliers All-Star forward said Thursday during a rehearsal break. James is practicing this week with his new teammates at ‘SNL,’ where he’ll become the latest superstar to host the show. The 22-year-old’s humorous Nike ads, in which he plays four versions of himself, and his ESPYs co-hosting performance made Lorne Michaels believe James would do well on the show. (more…)

Top NBA draft pick Greg Oden doesn’t remember much from immediately after knee surgery. He was with his mother at home when he found out how serious it was. “I kinda looked at my mom and said, ‘I’m out for the season? You kidding me?’ ” he said. As  previously reported, Oden will be on crutches for six more weeks. Full recovery likely will take six to 12 months. He has started swimming, and a machine gently bends his knee for six hours a day. Oden was at the Trail Blazers’ practice facility on Thursday on crutches and with his surgically repaired left knee wrapped in ice. Except for a videotaped blog entry, it was the 7-footer’s first public appearance since undergoing microfracture surgery on Sept. 13. He will miss the season rehabbing. (more…)

Sean “Diddy” Combs closed his restaurant of over 10 years, Justin’s, located on West 21st Street. He’s looking to reopen in a larger space, like his Justin’s in Atlanta, which covers most of a city block.

Bad Boy rapper Young Joc has shut down reports that his massive H pendant and rope chain were snatched off his neck during a brawl at a MOBO award after partyin London. Joc says his “H” necklace is safe and sound. LOL

According to a UK Magazine, Oscar-winner Halle Berry has hired security guards because of racist threats to her unborn baby. The star, three months pregnant, has received letters at her LA home from an anonymous sicko. One said she and her child would be “cut into hundreds of pieces”. A source close to the actress said: “Halle does not normally use security but she has taken on a couple of guys to make sure.” Police are investigating the threats.
