Snoop Dogg is set to give fans an inside look into his family life with the premiere of his new show “Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood.” The show will premiere this Sunday, December 9 on the E! network. The nominees for the 50th Annual Grammy Awards were announced on Thursday (December 6). Kanye West has a total of eight nominations across six categories. Kanye also joins Amy Winehouse, The Foo Fighters, Vince Gill and Herbie Hancock in the Best Album category for his latest release Graduation. His nominations include Best Rap Album, Best Solo Performance, Best Rap Sung Collaboration, and Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group. Other Hip-Hop artists who received nominations include Jay-Z, Nas, 50 Cent, Common, Timbaland, Lupe Fiasco, The Beastie Boys, Snoop Dogg, T.I. and Soulja Boy.

Two days after he passed away, Texas rapper Chad “Pimp C” Butler received a Grammy nomination on Thursday. Pimp C and his partner “Bun B” , who performed together as UGK (Underground Kingz), were nominated for their collaboration with hip-hop duo OutKast on the tune “Int’l Players Anthem (I Choose You).”

Also competing in the duo or group category are Common featuring Kanye West, Fat Joe featuring Lil Wayne, Shop Boyz, and a partnership among West, Nas and KRS-One.

Def Jam is planning to drop Jay Z, who will take up a a new contract at Columbia, the New York Daily News reports. The switch stems from Def Jam’s frustration with Hov’s ‘outrageous demands.’

A source tells New York Daily News: “People have lost count of how many times he’s come out of retirement. “Everybody knows he’s not around the office much. Everybody at Universal loves him, but they can’t justify paying him the money he wants when so many people have been laid off.”
