It has been officially announced that Island Def Jam will partner up with DJ Khaled for the Miami native’s new imprint We The Best Music. The debut album from rapper ACE will be the first release on We The Best Records with a street date to be announced in the coming weeks. “I’m proud to be a member of the Def Jam family,” DJ Khaled said in a statement announcing the deal. “Def Jam has been and still is one of the most important institutions in hip hop AND music as a whole. I am extremely honored and excited to be a partner with them in We The Best Music. I look forward to creating great music and continuing the success. LA, Shakir and Lenny S. are you ready? I am!” Even though Khaled is part of the Def Jam label, Khaled will remain a member of Fat Joe’s Terror Squad organization. Congrats!
