Ashanti’s new album “The Declaration” is set to drop July 3rd. According to Billboard.com the LP is a collection of songs tied together under the theme “womanhood and empowerment”.  “It’s been a long time coming for change, and the timing was just right,” she tells Billboard.com. The album “touches on those low points in life that determine whether you’re strong enough to go on. It reminds women that they can’t let things get the best of them”, she added. (more…)

Whitney Houston has responded to her ex-husband’s autobiography, which “xposes” the singer. As previously reported yesterday, Bobby Brown’s new tell all book “Bobby Brown: The Truth, the Whole Truth and Nothing But” reveals that Whitney introduced him to cocaine.

“I never used cocaine until after I met Whitney. Before then, I had experimented with other drugs, but marijuana was my drug of choice,” wrote Brown.

In response to that comment, Whitney’s reps told People magazine in a statement:  “Miss Houston is sad that Bobby feels he needs to say such things but she chooses to take the high road and will not speak badly about the father of her child even if it’s to set the record straight.” (more…)

Mariah Carey’s single “Touch My Body” made her way to the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, giving the singer her 18th career chart topper and a spot behind the Beatles for the most No. 1s  in the rock era. Carey surpassed second place holder Elvis Presley, who had 17 Billboard No. 1s. Her new album “E=MC2″ will drop on April 15, which leaves her on track to surpass the Beatles’ record of 20 No. 1s before the CD runs its course. Well, Rumor has it that Karina is having a fling with singer Mario.
