The hip hop community united to pay tribute to the late Sean Bell in a song. This is just weeks after three New York City detectives were acquitted of fatally shooting the 23-year-old. Featured on the track entitled “Stand Up (A Sean Bell Tribute” are producer/rapper Swizz Beatz, Talib Kweli, Cassidy, Drag-On, Maino and Styles P. The song will be available for purchase for .99 in the iTunes music store, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Sean Bell Benefit Fund. Oh boy! The plot thickens in the R. Kelly trial. The trial was adjourned earlier than expected yesterday (Wednesday) due to a spontaneous emergence of a new witness. Defense attorney Sam Adam Sr. said he got a call yesterday morning from a man who claims to have information that will undermine the testimony of the prosecution’s star witness. “We never knew about the witness until 9 a.m. this morning,” Adam said, according to reports. “The witness called us.” We hear that the witness may the the prosecution’s star witness’ ex-boyfriend. The defense told the judge that they needed to talk to this new witness before the woman testified. The defense is hoping to discredit the woman who was to be a key part of the case against Kelly. She is the only prosecution witness claiming to have actually seen sexual contact between Kelly and the young teen. (more…)

Usher went off on TRL recently defending his wife and the ongoing rumors about his marriage. Usher starts off by saying, “There was a little rumor earlier this week about [my wife and I] separating. It ain’t true. [We're] in love”… “Matter of fact, I’m tired of people continuing to talk so much trash about me. … My wife is not 40 years old. I love her to death and I’m a black, strong man in America standing up for my people—as a man to my wife, to my son, to my family,” he said walking towards the camera. Damien Fahey, the host of the show, seemed a lil freaked out as I am sure this wasn’t part of the set up. Fahey says “That’s it. There’s nothing left to say” … but Usher wasn’t through, LOL. Usher continued by saying “And my wife had nothing to do with me firing my mother [as my manager]—nothing like that, that’s trash. I hear y’all talking crazy out there. [Tameka] is a beautiful black woman. Stop. Stop talking. And I love her. Well, well, well. Two more witnesses identified the girl on the sex tape whom prosecutors believe was underage when filmed having sex with the R&B star. R. Kelly and the young woman continue to deny the allegations. Kelly’s lawyers even revealed that R.Kelly has a mole on his back and the man on the tape didn’t. (LOL).  Raven Gengler, 22, testified Tuesday that she was a childhood friend of the girl and recognized her as the teen in the sex tape, which prosecutors claim was made between Jan. 1, 1998, and Nov. 1, 2000. They say the young female in the tape was born in September 1984. An additional witness, Tjada Burnett, a family friend said she recognized the alleged victim by “cheeks, her nose, her facial structure.”  Under cross examination, the defense attorney argued that the alleged victim had braces in the late 1990s, but the young woman in the video didn’t appear to be wearing braces. A sex tape, supposedly featuring Shay “Buckeey” Johnson surfaced on the internet in late May, 2008. Johnson is best known as a contestant on the second season of Flavor of Love. The video, running 1:39 minutes, shows a woman who looks very much like Johnson, but it has not been confirmed that the tape is authentic. Rumors of a “Buckeey sex tape” began circulating in 2007, but this is the first possible video that has emerged.  I repeat, it is not confirmed that this is definitely “Buckeey”, but you can be the judge: (more…)

Ray J got busted in  Washington D.C. recently. TMZ reports that Ray J was asked to leave his room at the Hyatt Regency when hotel authorities discovered marijuana and a “club drug” known as “boat” in hotel room after hotel residents complained of loud partying in his room. Witnesses say that Ray J was extremely angry and argued with hotel security for not allowing him to stay at the hotel despite the discovery of drugs. The Police were later called to the scene, but they didn’t arrest anyone as Ray J denied the drugs were his. (more…)

Rapper T.I. may have a reality series coming real soon. Rumor has it that MTV may pick up the show wherein they will follow the hip hop star as he performs more than 1,000 hours of his community service before he begins to serve his one-year prison sentence next spring. Ish Entertainment is reportedly behind the untitled series which has scored an eight-episode order from MTV. Cameras already chronicled T.I.’s release from house arrest and will continue to run until his return to prison in early 2009. (more…)

Usually it’s Diddy’s white parties that cause a stir in the industry. His traditional white parties are usually at the end of the summer at his mansion in East Hamption, but this season, Kim Kardashian and her boyfriend Reggie Bush headlined the event. Last Sunday, Kardashian hosted a fabolous star-studded white party at The White House, a sprawling nightclub in Hampton Bays (pics below).
