So rumor has it that Hot 97 has announced that they are adding BIG BOY in the Morning nationally syndicated radio show to their morning line up. So this clearly means that Miss Jones got the boot and is off Hot 97! In a few weeks, every morning  from 7am – 10am, you’ll be able to tune in and check out Big Boy along with MTV Entertainment reporter Luscious Liz, Tattoo and the rest of the squad. Ebro Darden, HOT 97’s Program Director, says “Big Boy has an unmatched reputation for being entertaining…he also has great relationships with artists. Putting Big Boy on HOT 97 in New York City helps keep the high standard of radio happening for us.” Miss Jones will be departing next week which will allow her enough time to say farewell to her listeners. The new and much improved show with Big Boy will start on HOT 97 as early as July 21st.

A lot of changes are being made in radio. Miami hip hop radio station, 99 Jamz WEDR, got rid of their morning crew, SupaCindy and Big Lip Bandit, and replaced them with Ricky Smiley and Deez Nuts who will begin on July 7th. (more…)

Despite his opposition to sidestepping brand partnerships, NAS just inked a one-year partnership with Fila apparel. Fila will offer reciprocal financial support for Nas’ print and TV ad campaign as well as his upcoming tour in support of his untitled album, due July 15 via Def Jam. In return, the MC will wear Fila products and co-create an apparel line that draws from fashions of the late ’80s. Thats hot! (more…)

Congrats to actress Joy Bryant and her now husband, David Pope, who got hitched recently. According to People Magazine, the couple got married via beachside in front of 100 plus guests at a private home in Amagansett, N.Y. The actress met her husband on the set of “Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins” where he played as a stuntman. Byrant wore a custom made wedding dress designed by her friend Angela Missoni and afterwards changed into a stunning floral dress also made by Missoni. (more…)

MTV’s The Hills star, Heidi Montag, said most people don’t know she has a very spiritual side. The actor turned singer says, “I have been the most religious person since I was 2 years old. I always felt this crazy connection to God”. Montag, who just released her single “Fashio” (listen below) says she frequently reads her Bible and would love to record a Christian album in the near future. She adds that she once planned on devoting her life to God as a missionary in Africa. She and beau Spencer Pratt will head there in August to “feed children and help build things.” (more…)

The doctor who operated on Kanye West’s mother was arrested this past weekend. Dr. Jan Adams was pulled over and arrested for DUI in Northern, California. A citizen called in to report that someone was trying to drive onto a freeway through an off-ramp. It ended up being Dr. Adam who was behind the weheel of his 2004 XJ8 and about to head north on southbound I-680. Also turns out he was driving on a suspended license from a previous DUI. He’s scheduled for arraignment today in Solano County Superior Court. WOW!

DMX was arrested ONCE AGAIN in Miami. This is the second time in the past week that the rapper has been arrested. DMX attempted to buy $45 in cocaine and marijuana from an undercover police office on Friday, June 26. The rapper is currently in custody at the Miami-Dade County jail. The police reports states that the 37-year-old, DMX, real name Earl Simmons, approached the officer, requesting to purchase “30 powder and 15 weed.” Upon handing cash to the officer, DMX was taken into custody. This dude can’t seem to stay out of trouble! He was also arrested last Monday on a warrant for driving without a valid license. He was later released on bond, just to find himself in the slammer again!

What a rockstar! Jay-Z made history this past weekend as he was one of the first Hip Hop acts to perform at the Glastonbury Festival in the UK. Jay went on stage with a guitar over his shoulder and sang a rendition of Oasis’ hit song “Wonder Wall”. As you may know, Noel Gallagher of the rock band Oasis was opposed to Jay-Z being the headliner of the HUGE event since it was announced earlier this year. “The world should be all about mixing culture,”Jay-Z said to UK radio personality Tim Westwood. “Hip-hop is music in its art form. It should be accepted and respected. It’s all the same thing, it’s just coming from a different perspective.” Check out Jay-Z’s performance:

We previously reported that Ruben Studdard and his fiance Surata McCants filed for their marriage license about a week ago. Well the couple got married this past weekend. Can you believe they met while he was signing cds at Walmart in Atlanta and she was there shopping for toys! So sweet. Since then, the couple has been happily ever after and got hitched.
