National HIV Testing Day (NHTD) is an annual campaign produced by the National Association of People with AIDS (NAPWA-US) to encourage at-risk individuals to receive voluntary HIV counseling and testing.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that 180,000 to 280,000 people nationwide are HIV-positive but are unaware of their status. HIV counseling and testing enables people with HIV to take steps to protect their own health and that of their partners, and helps people who test negative get the information they need to stay uninfected.  GET TESTED TODAY! Finally, we get the “scoop” on Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta reality Show. There were some rumors going around that singer, Monica, was going to be on the show, but it wasn’t at all true. Here’s the OFFICIAL rundown on the women on the show provided by Bravo:

So check this out,  a “fake” concert promoter, named Tony Lee of Coastal Boy Entertainment, promised club manager Esa Jones that Lil Wayne would be in attendance to perform at Club Illusions in Alabama on Saturday. Well it was a big SCAM! After 700 tickets were sold for the June 21 show, the fans were left hanging because Lil Wayne wasn’t even really schedule to be there. “We got scammed real bad,” said Jones. “It looked planned, they printed tickets, had radio advertisements, ticket locations, it looks so legit.”  A police investigation has now been launched into the alleged fraud. Wayne’s performance at the Voodoo Experence is LEGIT though. Lil Wayne has joined the roster of performers booked for the Voodoo Experience in New Orleans, to be held Oct. 24-26 at New Orleans’ City Park, reports Billboard.  (more…)

The Miami Heat selected Kansas State forward, Michael Beasley, second overall in the highest draft lottery pick in the Heat’s franchise history. This put to rest trade rumors that persisted all week. ”I can sleep again,” Beasley said.

The draft lottery belonged to the freshmans this year.  Memphis point guard Derrick Rose taken first overall by the Chicago Bulls, the Heat landed the 6-8 Beasley, who is considered by many the top talent in the draft, and Minnesota drafted Southern Cal guard O.J. Mayo. This was the first time that college freshmen were taken with the top three picks. (more…)

Singer Nate Dogg was arrested yesterday morning in Los Angeles after a woman claiming to be his estranged wife called police to say he was making death threats against her as he drove behind her on a freeway. The 38-year-old singer was released from the Twin Towers jail in Los Angeles the next day after posting a $50,000 bond. He has gone crazy!

San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker will be the cover athlete and spokesman for EA Sports’ videogame NBA Live 09. Parker had previously been on the cover in France for five straight years. (more…)

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s donated $1 million to help kids affected by the war in Iraq, the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict. The announcement that was made yesterday revealed that the organization will distribute the donation, made through the couple’s Jolie-Pitt Foundation, to four organizations working on behalf of children who have lost parents, homes and schools in Iraq and will also include children in the U.S. who have lost parents in the conflict will also benefit.
