Who went to see the Sex And The City movie this past weekend? Apparently a lot of people did because the film that reunited Sarah Jessica Parker and co-stars Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon grossed $55.7 million during its opening weekend. This exceeded Hollywood’s box office expectations. Warner Bros., who was head of distribution, hoped the movie would deliver a $30 million debut, and it nearly doubled the forecasted figure. The movie which was mainly aimed at women broke records. “Sex and the City,” released under Warner’s New Line Cinema banner, had the best debut ever for an R-rated comedy, topping the $45.1 million opening of “American Pie 2.” “This is a blockbuster for women. This was to women what `Indiana Jones’ and `Star Wars,’ let’s say, are to men,” said Paul Dergarabedian, president of box office tracker Media By Numbers.
Sex and the City:Movie picks up four years after the series finale wherein Carrie Bradshaw and her girls left behind their old crazy ways to settle into monogamous relationships. In the film, they deal with family and commitment issues and continue to show off their personalities and fashion sense.

Samantha’s scenes (usually the most hilarious) where …..lackluster
The movie was good but it seemed like they tried to cram in so much in 2hrs 30mins. and in doing so didn’t really capture the true emotion that each of the situations needed….
Huge fan! I have all the series 1-6. I thought the movie was cute. I like it but they could have wrapped it up in 2hrs!..Their were parts where I busted out laughing when it was suppose to serious I must admit. All in all I’d give it a 3.5 stars. Target audience was the fans so that’s who will see it and appreciate. Anyone else might not be so generous w/ the rating.
If you were a fan of the series (as i was) i think you’ll enjoy the movie for sure. Yes, it’s a bit lengthy but overall i say it was pretty darn good. And though it was refreshing to see some color mixed in with the SATC crew on the big screen, J Hudson was just a little extra with her acting. But I must say that the “Big” shocker was hearing Big’s full government…who knew!?! LOL
in the immortal words of Kat Williams ,Ladies if you’re 25 and up and still saying niggas aint shit then maybe you need to figure what’s wrong with your kitty kat that keep attracting ain’t shit niggas.
They finally grew up, end of story.
The movie was fab lol. If you are a true fan this is like 6 eposides in one but it was worth it to me. Carrie finally got what she wanted yeeeeahhh John lol . It was a night to hang out with the girls and watch a movie you really wanted to see while the men went to see indiana joness boooo. I LOVED IT!! End of Story
Can we say….BRAVO BRAVO!!! I loved the movie. Of course, there were a couple (in the words of my sista) “lackluster” scenes (mostly J HUD’s parts), but overall I really enjoyed my 2hrs and 30 min of SATC. I think the writer did a pretty good job of translating the tv show onto the big screen. I heard that they are in the works for a sequel so hold onto your pinks girls!!!
