Black Olympic swimmer, Cullen Jones, made history as one of four men on the USA’s winning 4X100 freestyle relay team. The team took the Gold with a world record time of 3 minutes, 8.24 seconds. Cullen, who is a Bronx native, is the third Black American to qualify for the Olympics in swimming! Congrats!

His father died of cancer in 2000 and never got the chance to see his son set a world record mark or earn the scholarship to NC State where he attended college.Cullen Jones has also positioned himself as an advocate and ambassador of swimming for reluctant black children.
