TYRA BANKS CELEBRATES BLACK MODELS!

In celebration of the recent all-black issue of Italian Vogue, Tyra Banks held a fashion show in the streets of New York City (check out the pics). The event which was held of Tuesday was fabulous. Tyra was joined by past, present and future black models for a special taping of her daytime talk show which will air September 11th.
”Young girls look at magazines and want to see a reflection of themselves and that will tell them that they exist, and that they are beautiful,” Banks said, according to the UK’s Channel 4. “So we need Asians, we need black, we need Latin, we need every culture represented in fashion to show that young girl that she matters, that she exists, and that she is beautiful.”
Banks posed for pictures with the models before releasing a bunch of balloons into the Manhattan sky. Beautiful!

yes they are….very much overlooked~ I’ve seen ONLY one true African-american model – Alex Wiek – w/o any weaves or lighter skin tones pictures. Congrats to her!
The last model there really needs to eat something…But yes congrats to Tyra
Tyra is my chick w.o a doubt and always do positive things ..you r fab!!!!!!as always .I’m glad to see tis …but where’s my girl eva pigford at!!!!!!!
to me trya is such a hypocrite.she has the nerve to stand there and say young girls needs to see themselves in the magazine,we need asians, we need blaks we need latin.in her crap of a show antm she has only picked black and white women,and only one latin(which was like season 11).why is it that it has been eleven seasons and she has yet to switch it up?i am a proud black woman and is very glad to see my people win but i know there are alot of asian woman who are very upset.im not sure what season it was but there was only one asian and she was eliminated.only two indians both eliminated.one african(nenna) she was eliminated.there are soo many other cultures out there who have yet to even make the top pick.how can tyra call herself a woman if she wont give these woman a chance?
