Atlanta’s news station has reported that James Brown’s son-in-law was shot dead last night in the garage of his Buckhead home. Relatives of Darren “Chip” Lumar told the news that they believe the incident was a intentional hit on Lumar. The shooter was waiting for Lumar to show up at his house.
“When he drove up to park his car in the garage, he was confronted. An altercation of some sort took place. That’s when the victim was shot multiple times,” said Atlanta police Officer Eric Schwartz. Lumar’s neighborhood is a gated community. “I think it was somebody that knew him,” Schwartz said. After Lumar was shot he got in his car and drove all the way to Northside Hospital where he later died. Isnt’ that crazy! Lumar was married to James Brown’s daughter, Yamma Brown Lumar. She recently divorced him…but authorities have not said she was a suspect. When Lumar arrived at the hospital he had $4,000.00 cash in his pocket authorities confirmed. Police said Monday they have not made any arrests and they don’t have a motive.
