JOHN FORTE PARDONED BY GEORGE BUSH!

Fugee affiliate John Forte is reportedly one of 16 people who have received a reduced sentence or a pardon from US President George Bush. Do ya’ll remember him? He was on Wyclef and Pras’ hit single “Stayin’ Alive”… As you may recall, Forte was sentenced to 14 years in prison after being caught with two briefcases filled with $1.4 million worth of liquid cocaine at Newark International Airport in 2000. Crazy right!

Forte wrote, produced and appeared on The Fugee’s multi-platinum and Grammy-winning 1996 album, The Score. He also released two solo albums, Poly Sci and I, John.

According to The Washington Post, Forte will be released from jail on December 22nd and will face five years of supervised probation. Senator Orrin Hatch, singer Carly Simon and her son James, were among the people who advocated for Forte’s release.

“Now is the perfect opportunity for John to be given the chance to provide positive benefits to society through his considerable musical talents,” Hatch wrote to Bush in a January 2007 letter. Forte was one of two inmates who received reduced sentences. Bush pardoned 14 others.

Do you think certain inmates deserve a second chance?

  1. No I don’t believe anyone trying to sale 1.4mil worth of crack cocaine should be pardoned. Hell, they are selling it to our relatives. This guy and others like him are praying on the weak. So we pardon him to sell music to the weak and not so weak now? Just screw us without a condom why don’t u we’re all going to die anyway I guess.

What has he shown that makes him deserve a pardon. Oh, I know, HE IS A CELEBRITY. If he wasn’t, he would just be another person arrested for drugs. And, btw, who’s to say that this wasn’t his first time doing this…

To me that time doesn’t fit the crime…Hell Mob bosses, who killed many people don’t get that much time. We don’t know all the evidence or the situation for which this went down. But I’m glad he has a competent lawyer to work his magic for brother-man.

I feel ya, Neoleo it about time they are letting them out instead of hemming them up!
