Remy Ma is praying to have an opportunity to be home for the holidays. Her lawyers have filed an appeal trying to overturn her assault and weapon possession conviction. As you may recall, Remy was sentenced to eight years in prison for shooting her friend Makeda Barnes-Joseph in the stomach following a dispute over money. Remy’s lawyers are claiming that the Judge in the case made countless mistakes during trial. ”The trial court wrongly instructed the jury over defense objection, that if it found Makeda Barnes-Joseph was ‘truthful and accurate’ then her testamony under the law satisfies the proof beyound a reasonable doubt,” Remy’s lawyer wrote in the appeal documents. “Ms. Smith was unfairly prejudiced by the inclusion in the indictment of counts regarding the violent gang assault  at the Player’s Club, as to which there was no evidence  to her complicity, but which likely colored the jury’s consideration of the remaining counts.”

Do you think her case should be overturned? Leave us your comments!
