Awww Man! My favorite band was involved in a car accident!  The Roots survived a bus crash in Paris, France yesterday! Thank Goodness none of the group members sustained any serious injuries. ?uestlove detailed the the horrible crash in a post on his website Okayplayer.com:

“In reality the crash was all of about 7 seconds,” the drummer wrote in an email later posted on the site. ”But to do a 360 on the highway and end up ramped up (the van that crashed into ours was under our double decker bus) in the air….is….well…a frigging miracle.”

“My first thought was not move a f*cking inch,” he continued. “I always had fear that we would fall off a cliff while in high mountain traveling like Denver or Switzerland. I couldn’t tell where gravity began and ended. I just wanted someone to calmly tell me the weight of my body was not going to push us down a mountainside. Then I wanted assurance that the bus was not going to explode.”

Additionally, The Roots plan on retiring in 2009 and taking on a gig as Jimmy Fallon’s house band as Fallon will be taking over Conan O’Brien’s “Late Night.”
