Columbia Pictures is refashioning the 1984 hit The Karate Kid for Jaden Smith, the 10-year-old son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith, according to Variety. The film will be produced by Jerry Weintraub, who is produced the original, and Overbrook Entertainment, which is Will Smith’s production company.

Jaden’s first acting gig was in the THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS in 2006 with his Dad who star and produced the film.

Karate Kid (remake) is said to start shooting next year in Beijing and other cities, following the same plot as the original. Jaden is reportedly ready for the role as he is already trained in martial arts. Jaden is soooo cute! Love that kid!
