WOW! Lil Wayne did it big in the ‘08. The rapper has eight GRAMMY nominations topping the list of all artists. Jay-z and Kanye West have six nods, and Dangermouse(?), T.I. and Lupe Fiasco both have four nominations. Lil Wayne’s album, Carter III, which was the top selling album of 2008 selling a million units in its first week out, is nominated for the ALBUM OF THE YEAR award. The competition is between Ne-yo, Robert Plant, Coldplay (love em’), Radiohead, and Allison Krause.

“The Grammy Awards process once again has yielded a comprehensive, diverse and eclectic group of excellent nominees across multiple genres,” said Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy. “This year’s nominations are truly reflective of the talented community of artists and creators who represent some of the highest levels of musical excellence.”

Other notable nominees include Estelle (American Boy), Jazmine Sullivan, Rihanna, Kid Rock, Flo-Rida, T-Pain, Nas and others. So proud of Jazmine Sullivan!

Winners will be announced Feb. 8 in a ceremony that will be held at Staples Center and telecast on CBS-TV.
