I didn’t see this coming! WOW! This is some crazy scoop! We hear that Etta James says she is not a big fan of Beyonce, and OUR PRESIDENT! WTF? Beyonce played the role of Etta James in the movie Cadillac Records. The two were all smiles at the November premiere party. I wonder what happened? I believe its because James wasn’t choosen to sing for the President and First Lady’s First Dance! Listen to the Audio…
“You guys know your president, right? You know the one with the big ears? Wait a minute, he ain’t my president, he might be yours, he ain’t my president,” James told fans during a Seattle concert last week.
“You know that woman he had singing for him, singing my song — she’s gonna get her a– whipped. The great Beyonce…But I can’t stand Beyonce,” she added. “She has no business up there, singing up there on a big ol’ president day…singing my song that I’ve been singing forever.”

Some people will do and say anything to be back in the spotlight. I agree with Miss Xpose she is upset because she was not asked to sing. Beyonce did a beautiful job singing.

According to TMZ.com this song does not belong to and was not written by Etta James. The song was recorded by Glenn Miller in 1941, the second person to record the song was Nat King Cole in 1957. Ms James did not record in until 1961, so why the Hell is she whining like a little Biatch.
She should be grateful that someone is even speaking her name; I personally did not know anything about her until the movie came out. She could not have been too great
someone need to tell Etta to go sit down somewhere. Jealousy is still the great big green eyed monster, and it not a pretty look. She is way to old to be doing this mess. Ugh!
Very childish of Ms Etta… BUT…. did Beyonce get permission to sing the song from the powers that be? If so then we have no issue. If not then I can understand Etta’s anger. However Beyonce did a beautiful job and I couldn’t take that away from her if I wanted to. She had me in tears. Now, as for Etta I think Whoppie Goldberg said it best on the View today. She said it is hard when something you’ve made so famous is given a new life by someone other than you. Not saying Etta wrote the song but that she is the reason the song is so famous all these years later. As Whoppie put it, when the play The Color Purple came out on Broadway – no one asked her to perform in it and she never admit until today that she was offended by it. After all, who could forget Whoppie as Celia in the color purple? That was a powerful movie that she wasn’t invited to participate in when it came to Broadway. Similar to Etta not being invited to the Whitehouse to perform a powerful song made powerful because of her singing it. Not Beyonce. I can understand Etta’s anger to some extent… I can see it from all sides. But Etta should maybe not be so public with her hatred.
Any chance that isn’t her on the recording? Maybe it’s a comedian or something
I’m dissapointed Etta James. I love her music but Beyonce made a younger generation love it too. I can’t understand her hatred. She sound like she had been drinking or smoking when she said this. I think it’s a shame she doesn’t support the President either. It’s really really sad.

I guess some people are never too old for” Messy,” Etta James is too old for this and this is a really sad way to leave a legacy, this is how she will now be remembered by disgracing our president and being jealous over a song that does not belong to her in the first place, she clearly must be starting dementia, or forgot to take hers Bi-Polor Meds, you decide.
Ms. James was WAAAY outta line with her comments. I’d think her being older (71) she’d be more respectful and cautious with her words. I do however think it would have been nice for her to perform being that she recorded the song the same year Obama was born (61). This story is reminiscent of the Lil Kim/Naturi Naughton situation. She’s jealous of B and I personally think that she did a good job! Ms. James , you’re too old to be acting out like this!

Etta and Bey thought they were gonna “BLOW-UP”and have the same success as the Jennifers and Dreamgirls… I agree with purpose she did sound a little tipsy!!!!! So pathetic!
Well, I don’t think that Etta should have been so public with he disgust with Beyonce’ but come on guys…Beyonce’ is singin the song like it hers. It doesn’t matter who sang it first, Etta made it stick and she should get the accolades that come along with it!! I’d be a litle pissed to but that is what happens in the business…
