The 22nd annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards went down this past weekend. Of course, Rihanna and Chris Brown were a no show. As previously reported, Chris Brown pulled his name from the nominee list, and Rihanna lost in both of her categories for favorite female sing and favorite song, to Miley Cyrus and Beyonce’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)” respectively.

Soulja Boy who attended the award ceremony said via the orange carpet, “For them not to be here is very sad. I was looking forward to seeing them here… Right now, it’s a sad situation. And it’s very touchy. I’m just …. it just shocked me when it happened.”

AP reportsUtah Jazz forward Carlos Boozer has filed for divorce in Miami from his wife of more than six years. We hear that Boozer wasn’t a faithful husband. Court documents filed Thursday call the marriage between Boozer and his wife, Cindy, “irretrievably broken.” The two have twin 19-month-olds and a 2-year-old child. Boozer seeks shared child custody and is willing to pay child support.

An attorney for Boozer’s wife said in an e-mail that her client hopes all issues can be resolved amicably, and that her primary concern is what’s best for the children. A Jazz spokesman said Carlos Boozer declined comment.

In other sports news, NFL player Ryan Moats said Monday on ABC’s “Good Morning America” that he accepts the apology offered by the Dallas cop who stopped him at gunpoint in a hospital parking lot while his mother-in-law was dying inside and that he hopes his apology was sincere. (more…)

Oprah isn’t having to much luck with her school in Africa. Oprah Winfrey’s Leadership Academy for Girls has been rocked by a second sex scandal in less than two years. UNREAL! A girl who is only 15 years old was found guilty of preying on other students and forcing girls to lie to investigators about it. “You have been found guilty of physical contact of a sexual nature with another pupil on campus, harassment, bullying other girls on campus and of being dishonest by not telling investigators the whole truth,” a letter to her parents read.

Other girls were “caught fondling each other or trying to get other girls to join them in lesbian liaisons”. Seven students were suspended last week Lisa Halliday, Oprah’s spokesperson, confirmed. “It is because they contravened the school’s code of conduct. We regard the incident as confidential,” the New York Daily News quoted her as saying. (more…)

After the media caught wind of Damon Dash’s financial problems and his wife leaving him because of them, he decided to tell his side of the story. Dame says that he is broke because he got caught up making sure people around him were succeeding and lost track of his own finances.

As previously reported, the former mogul is facing foreclosure on his two properties in the trendy TriBeca area of New York and reportedly owes $2 million in state taxes, among other debts.  He tells Billboard.com, “My mistake was watching everyone else’s careers and not watching mine.”  

Rachel Roy, his wife of four years, filed for divorce earlier this month. Dame helped her launch her own women’s fashion line and also helped the now successful Jim Jones, which he says is another reason why he didn’t spend enough time on his own projects.       

Dame adds, “After being able to settle my wife’s company, I was able to start doing other things. My first approach was the music business and getting with Jim Jones… I spent the last six months doing research, trying to figure out how to use all my resources to blow this out.”

Craziness…So a L.A. based pop artist thought that Rihanna’s battered face pic that was leaked by the LAPD was so interesting that he made it into a art piece that is currently being displayed in a Hollywood art exhibit.

“I thought the bruises in the police photo were interesting shapes to draw,” said Sham Ibrahim of his 24-inch by 36-inch portrait, which reflects four custom colorized blow-ups of digital tracings of the police picture onto canvas. “And it was cool to color them pink and blue. Those are two of my favorite colors.”    

The artist says that his painting has no underlying message and he doesn’t support domestic violence. “There is no message to any of my art,” he says. “It’s meant to look cool hanging on your wall and that’s it! I’m not into deep meanings.” 

The painting is currently on display at Wonder Storefront Gallery’s new group show, Name That ‘Toon. Hmmm I wonder how Rihanna feels about this…

Despite rumors that Ginuwine’s wife, Solé, left him due to rumors that he was seeing LisaRaye, Solé says she is still with her man. Sister 2 Sister recently spoke with Solé, and she told Jamie, S2S Publisher that she hasn’t left him over the rumors about LisaRaye.

Solé told Jamie that reports about her reaction to the rumor were way off base. “I was like, that’s funny. First of all, I’m not packing up no four kids and disrupting their lives in the middle of the school year, I don’t care what he did. That’s just foolish,” Solé laughed. “But they were reporting this like they had seen me out here packing up my bags.”

Solé heard the rumor thru family and friends, but new it wasn’t true from the jump. “I believed it wasn’t true from the beginning,” Sole said. “My being upset about it was just the fact that it caught me so off guard.” Although she new the rumors may have been a publicity stunt, it didn’t keep Ginuwine out of the dog house. She didn’t know about LisaRaye being the leading lady of his new video…

Andre 3000 was arrested this weekend in Atlanta. Buddy was driving his 2007 Porsche Carrera at speeds so excessive that the police confirmed that it was “an accident waiting to happen”.

Andre was arrested by Henry County Police for driving at 109 mph, 44 mph over the 65 mph speed limit along that stretch of I-75. The charge was for “danger he posed to other drivers”. “Traveling that fast along 75, you’re passing people as if they’re standing still,” explained Henry County Police Captain Jason Bolton.

Alonzo Mourning’s Miami Heat official jersey retirement ceremony took place last night during the Heat vs. Magic game at the AAA. There was not a dry eye in the entire arena. I cried like a baby, and so did Zo. Even though he made a bet that he would not cry, Zo couldn’t hold back his emotions. As Mourning’s No. 33 jersey was being raised to the rafters, tears came down his face. After some touching words from former Coach Pat Riley, Zo got on the podium to address his fans, family and teammates.

“Just eight short years ago, I didn’t envision this moment happening,” Mourning said at the halftime ceremony when the Heat played Orlando. “This is probably one of the greatest moments of my life.”

Alonzo Mourning is the first player in franchise history to have his number hoisted to the rafters of American Airlines Arena.
