As previously reported, singer Ashanti landed the roles Dorothy in the New York City Center Encores! Summer Stars production of The Wiz, June 12 – July 5 at New York City Center (W. 55th Street between 6th & 7th Avenues). Ashanti was spotted with her mom/manager at the City Theater yesterday where she gave a special sneak peak performance in anticipation of her role in the stageplay.

Nelly was nowhere around. We hear the two have taken a break from their relationship. I haven’t been able to confirm that this is indeed true, but the fact that they haven’t hanging out or have been seen to gether in quite awhile…is enough confirmation for me.
