Nelly may have not been on the “scene” lately, but he is definitely “behind the scenes” adding on to his business portfolio. The rapper has collaborated with Romane Fragrances to launch his own Apple Bottoms fragrance and body care line. The Apple Bottom by Nelly Fragrance is due in stores this fall.

In related news, we hear that Nelly recently helped two Saint Louis high school students attend college, via a partnership with Lindenwood University. According to AHH, Nelly joined forces with Lindenwood last fall to create the Black and White Scholarship, which he awarded to the students during a surprise visit to the school’s campus last week.

In more related news, Nelly’s girlfriend Ashanti has landed a new gig. R&B star Ashanti will ease on down the road to her first theater role this summer in a New York-staged revival of “The Wiz. The Grammy winner will star as Dorothy in the African American version of L. Frank Baum’s “The Wizard of Oz,” which begins in June as part of the “Encores! Summer Stars” series at New York City Center. Congrats Shanti!
