Rihanna’s lawyer, Donald Etra, says that Rihanna will testify on the infamous Feb. 8th assault involving her ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown. According to People.com, Etra confirms that the prosecutors intend to subpoena the 21-year-old pop star to appear at a June 22 hearing so the the court can determine whether there is enough evidence to proceed with a trial. “The DA has advised me that she will be subpoenaed [to testify],” Etra said. “She absolutely will comply.”
Additionally, the district attorney says that Brown’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, was denied access to police records to find out who leaked the photo of Rihanna’s injuries, however Geragos will have the right to cross-examine Rihanna when she takes the stand.
As you know, Chris Brown pleading not guilty to the assault charges. If found guilty he could face up to four years and eight months in prison, however, experts say this may end in a plea deal.
