We hear that prison officials at Rikers Island made Foxy Brown extra comfortable during her nine-month sentence for violating parole by assaulting nail-salon workers. New York Post reports officers hung out in her cell, gave her makeup and gave her unlimited TV and phone access.

Perez Hilton who is openly gay has been asked by GLAAD (The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) to apologize to the gay community for calling Will.I.am a “faggot” after their brawl at the MuchMusic Awards. Hilton said in his video blog: “I made the split-second decision — that I was gonna say what I thought was the worst possible thing that thug [will.i.am] would ever want to hear” — which was the gay slur ‘faggot’.”   (more…)

For all you “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” fans, Bravo announced the second season will start on July 30th at 10 p.m., ET. As previously reported, Kandi Burruss of the former R&B group Xscape will replace DeShawn Snow as the fifth housewife this season, joining aspiring country “singer” Kim Zolciak, entrepreneur Lisa Wu Hartwell, the outspoken NeNe Leakes and budding fashion designer Sheree Whitfield. I can hardly wait! We hear that in this season, Kandi who is friends with Lisa Wu will be showing how she balances wedding planning, writing and recording, and being a mom.     (more…)

Oprah wins the award for “The Best Boss”. She took her entire Harpo staff and their families on an ultimate summer vacation on a Mediterranean cruise. Oprah and her staff were due to leave Chicago on Saturday and set to sail to Spain, Italy, Turkey, Greece and Malta. Oprah covered all costs which included transportation, food, drinks and activities at port stops. Chicago-based Best Travel reports that a cruise like the one Winfrey is taking her staff on costs about $5,400 a person. WOW!

I was a bit shocked after reading an interview that Essence.com had with Jill Scott. Scott reveals that she and fiance, drummer Lil John Roberts, are no longer together. The two broke up before she gave birth to their son, Jett Hamilton. According to her interview with Essence.com, Scott is tackling the most important role in her life as mom to 2-month-old son, while continuing to enjoy a flourishing film and television career. In more postive news, the Philly soul singer may get an Emmy soon for her enigmatic role as Precious in HBO’s critically acclaimed series “The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency.” I love that show!
