WHY IS THE MEDIA FOCUSING ON MICHAEL JACKSON SCANDALS! LETS REMEMBER HIS TALENT!

Yesterday I couldn’t sleep after such a somber day. I watched different media outlets who dedicated their airtime reporting the death of Michael Jackson. The one thing that really bothered me was that the “mainstream” media focused alot on Jackson’s series of scandals during his career. Although The King of Pop had been plagued by financial, legal, and medical woes for years, why don’t they focus on his tremedous “talent” that changed the face of music and our culture? Reverend Al Sharpton said it best at the press conference he held in front of the Appollo Theatre, where the singer performed many times with the Jackson 5. (see video below)

Some media outlets were focusing on the wrong thing but they can not take away the JOY & MAGIC THIS MAN HAS ADDED TO OUR LIVES FOR SOOOO LONG!

I agree Miss Xpose. If the media would have played off the vibes of the fans; they would know that he loved for his music and his heart. All that other stuff was really didn’t matter. The funny thing is the first thing I did after I heard Michael passed away was start singing my favorite songs of his. Man, I heard some songs in the car that I forgot Michael made. He will truly live forever through his music. I pray that they do not turn his death in circus, he has children.
Fox News is the worst. The 5am show those jerks basically said that yes he was talented but we can’t forget the child molestation charges. They have no shame or compassion and focused only on the negative.
To add one more thing. There has only been one person in this lifetime that has inspired a WORLD. People of all races have imitated him and have been inspired by him in many ways (singing, dancing, writing, fashion, etc.). I thought it was very distasteful that one network continued to ask others celebrities there thoughts on various scandals, when they were all trying to call in say how he has inspired them.
I really cant beileve what some of the mainstream media is saying. Yes he did have problems but can we please focus on the joy & AMAZING music that we all grow up with & loved?! Thats why i dont even wanted hear anybody talk about him. prefer to just hear & watch his music videos,well short films. Nobody can make a short film like Micheal Jackson. Nobody. His music is timeless. Why cant they talk about the 750 MILLION albums sold? 50 MILLION of those were from thriller its self. How many other artists you know sold that many? The media is focusing on the wrong things. He was & still is a legend an icon & to millions their idol. R.I.P Micheal you will truly,truly be missed.
the fact that everyone wants to talk about how much they love Michael NOW is so annoying! For years all ppl have done is ridicule him. But now that he’s gone everybody wants to act like its always been love. Hypocracy at its finest. R.I.P. Mike!

Damn, I didnt even care about if he was gonna come out with any new music or do any more performing, I just wanted him to be around period. Never thought i’d see the day, especially not this soon. I felt the same way, I turned the channel everytime they started talking about that “MJ scandals” crap. The majority of the radio stations in the bay area have been focusing on the good and hundreds of ppl have been calling in with positive comments and stories about thier fav MJ moments. I love that, I feel like we all grew up on MJ, we felt like we knew him. The good he has done for the WORLD, and the major contributions he has made to our culture as a whole outweighs the bad by far. WE LOVE YOU MICHAEL
Michael’s work are masterpieces! He will truly be missed!

To be honest, Yes he may have been a legend and yes his music was amazing. He was the Greatest…however What will our children know him as? I’m 23 and i remember more scandal and buffonery from this man than amazing moments. Granted the media is wrong for just zeroing in on all his faults, but we can’t just dismiss all the strangeness over the years. The man has been caught up in strangeness more recently than music…Which happened most recent a new song or some strange buffonery??? Not being a jerk… Just layin down the facts…It is what it is… He’s a musical legend that paved the way that gave us something to talk about more times bad then good…
There are not more bad times than good ones in my opinion. Jackson has been performing for the past 40 years…he went to court 2 times I believe. For 40 years worth of great music and performances to be buried under 2 court cases that he never was found guilty of anything is just wrong and disrespectful…Am I wrong about the number of negative things? Not being a smart ass but seriously asking what else was so bad. He married Lisa Marie and he “stole” the Beetle’s songs from Paul McCartney…and……?? he had animals at the ranch.
I chose to remember the good times.. and lawd knows when u or I die that folks will remeber the good in us and not more of the bad.

Thank u cee cee for saying that! im 22 & i remember the good.i remember watching his videos for the first time trying to do the dances( i had the ”lean” in smooth criminal down.lol) Yes he had alot of strangeness going on but that could never outshine his music. The man was & will always be a legend & i hate the fact that some are trying to tarnish his legacy. Not being mean & you have the right to think that but im a year younger than you & i remember the good. & yea perez hilton is an a$$. How dare he make a joke at a time like this. He didnt know what was going on so he shouldnt have said a damn thing.
