IN THE NEWZ: CHICAGO CHILD BEATEN TO DEATH, ALL CAUGHT ON TAPE!

This is horrible news…We gotta do better with our kids people…The News reported that Derrion Albert, a 16-year-old honors student at Fenger High School in Chicago, was beaten to death during a fight between two gangs that broke out on the street as he walked home from school last Thursday. All was caught on tape. (more after the jump)The following individuals, Silvonus Shannon, 19, Eugene Riley, 18, and Eric Carson, 16, have been charged as adults of first-degree murder and were held without bail on Monday afternoon.
The poor kid was beaten to death with planks of wood and when he fell to the ground, he was stomped in the head. Prosecutors say Albert was “merely a bystander” as two groups of students from different neighborhoods fought.
Police said that an amateur video helped detectives identify the participants in the melee outside the Agape Community Center. The video shows dozens of people punching, kicking and swinging wooden planks in a melee next to the community center and the adjacent street. At one point, four or five males — including one wielding a two-by-four — can be seen beating and stomping another person, believed to be Albert, who had fallen to the ground.

I just can’t bring myself to watch this video. Miss Xpose, do you know why they were fighting??? I heard a little about this on the news. We lost another at our own hands. My prayers go out to his family.
that is beyond fukked up..what’s wrong with these hoodrats??absolutely ridiculous behaviour and I’m ashamed…now someone has lost their life over something that didn’t have to happen…smh
the death of your child brutally beaten n caught on tape…that is truly heart breaking. how could they pick up a 2×4 n not think they could kill some1…Crazy!
I should not have watched that video. What the hell is wrong with people! How is it “cool’ in these kids minds to do this! Messed up!
Like Slny, I couldn’t watch the video either…this is just heart breaking & surreal~! A growing number of bystanders are injured worse than the actual ‘participants’…
I cried at the start of this video. Watching our young people act so barbaric is beyond me. My heart goes our to this mother and her family. I have three sons and all I could feel was this was one of mine being beaten to death. These young people don’t know what they are doing to themselves.
SLNY: supposedly, the whole thing started between to rival gangs. there was a shooting last week or something and this way supposed to be retaliation. too bad the morons killed an INNOCENT, they probably didn’t even know who to go after, they just attacked anyone.
My heart aches for this poor kid. What I can never understand is this… these pieces of crap want to be “gangsta” and “tough”, right? well, there is nothing tough about a GROUP of kids with wooden planks… they are all PUSSIES!!! i wish someone with balls had run these pieces of crap over with their car. This is happening way to frequently, and you know why? because too many chickenheads want to have kids without knowing how to raise them properly. ladies, if you are going to have a baby, be responsible and teach your child right from wrong.
we need some vigilantes out here to clean up our streets. these kids are getting younger and younger killing eachother.. its really sad.
anyway. rip Derrion. Its a shame that you had to go so soon but, you know what they say.. the good die young. my prayers are with derrions family and i hope the pieces of garbage who did this spend the next 50 years in a prison cell getting raped with a broom stick.

to a child that just whated to smell the earth and keep breathing, this is the start of every parent nightmare and than some. So this is the freedom that these folks have come to , to kill there on not good. God bless you young child you are now in a safe place.

Thanks, JuJu! I live in Cali, we got WGN but because of the time zone difference I didn’t catch the full story. The ironic part is so many times people bring up that beefs used to be settled with our hands and not guns. But, hands have killed the innocent too. Stop the violence!
I DON’T UNDERSTAND ANYMORE!!! WE AS BLACK PEOPLE SHOULD LOVE ONE ANOTHER AND NOT KILL ONE ANOTHER!!! WE ARE DECREASING BY THE SECOND,THE MINUTE, THE HOUR, AND DAY!!! MY HEART IS HURTING BECAUSE I JUST LOST TWO CLASSMATES WITHIN TWO WEEKS APART!!! I FEEL LIKE WE NEED TO DO BETTER AS A WHOLE!!! THIS WORLD IS TEARING APART QUICKLY!!! OMG. It hurts so much to see this. How can you be that angry to do something like this. these are nothin but children. where were the adults? y didnt no one get out of their car and break up the fights. maybe if they would have had some heart instead of just driving by them staring, that young man could still have his life. the people that were in the cars are just as guilty as the kids who did this b cuz they could have helped. it pisses me off to watch as they ignore it. i have children of my own. 2 girls and i would b damned if i saw something like this happening to someone else child and didnt do anything to stop it. I am so sorry for your loss Ms. Albert and my heart goes out to you!!!!!!!!!
