Kandi Burruss’s fiance’s death may have been caused by a medical disorder.
Media reports reveal that Sickle cell anemia may have played a significant role in the death of Ashley “AJ” Jewell, the ex-fiancé of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burress, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Thursday.
Fulton County Associate Medical Examiner Dr. Kelly Rose has revealed that preliminary autopsy results led her to believe that AJ, who died two weeks ago after a brawl in the parking lot of an Atlanta strip club, suffered from the life long blood disorder that inhibits oxygen flow to tissues in the body.
“…It’s most likely that Jewell was worked up from the fight — and because of his condition, it’s probable that he couldn’t replenish the oxygen he lost during the incident … which the Dr. says could have fatal consequences.”
The father of six suffered severe head injuries during the fight at Body Tap. He was rushed to Piedmont Hospital, and later died.

*WHEW* I get choked up everytime about this! Still so sad!
AJ may have had an existing condition but I feel his death was TRIGGERED by that imbecile who worked him up!
If they can charge a person w/ guilty by association then they need to charge that man with being GULITY BY INITIATING THE FIGHT!
Regardless of his condition the man struck him in the head. The man still needs to be charged, this new evidence should only change the charges. It sounds like they are saying its AJ’s fault.
he can be charged with manslaughter at least, right? I mean he had no knowledge of AJ’s condition, therefore his intentions, were probably not to kill him, but definitely cause harm….
