R&B star Black Dada debuted the video premiere of his debut single “Imma Zoe” on BET’s 106 & Park last week. The Universal Republic/Strictly Business artist rose to fame after the single became a street anthem in South Florida, taking over airwaves in Miami, and receiving endorsements from DJ Khaled on 99Jamz and DJ Laz on POWER96 this summer.

The video profiles the journey of a young Haitian boy who hits the shores of Miami from a refugee boat, and paints the pride of all immigrants and the diverse cultures that all contribute to the rich heritage of that region. In fact, the tune has people from all ethnic backgrounds and all walks of life singing, “Imma Zoe.”

“The word ‘zoe’ is a person with the will or the strength to overcome any obstacle,” reveals Black Dada. “That’s what the song actually means and what the video depicts. It’s a concept that everyone can relate to and I’m really excited for everyone to see my very first video.”

Black Dada’s breakout hit has emerged on New York’s urban authority HOT97, first played by Mister Cee back in July, and most recently chosen as the Heavy Hitters “Pick of the Week” last week and heavily endorsed by DJ Enuff, and currently receives daily rotation on HOT97.

The video was directed by Gil Green, who also shot the video for the official remix, which features Rick Ross and Birdman. It was produced in August in the Miami-Dade region, and follows a concept conceived by the artist.
