Congrats to the New York Yankees who won the WORLD SERIES. Mary J. Blige was chosen to sing the National Anthem last night and she tore it up!!!! (see video below). The New York-born Blige, wearing a World Series jacket and a Yankees jersey, said: “I have never done it before, so I’m kind of nervous. But I’m mostly excited because this is my hometown. I was born in Fordham Hospital [New York] in the Bronx, so I’m just happy that [the Yankees] picked me to do this.” (see MJB singing below)

The Yankees won the game and the series, beating the Phillies four games to two overall. It is the 27th time the New York side have claimed the title.
