JD VS. THE DREAM: BEEF REGARDING MARIAH CAREY

Another twitter beef. The Dream and Jermaine Dupri got into a lil fued (somewhat) regarding the success of Mariah Carey’s latest album “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel”. The Dream worked on her latest project, but I guess Dupri, who has worked on previous Carey albums blames the poor sales and reviews on Dream’s production…see below (LTLine is Jermaine Dupri) JD VS. The-Dream, who was engaged in a heated argument with a group of Carey’s fans, then released the following statements about the situation via his own Twitter account:

Why is Twitter relevant? All it does it get celebs in trouble. Mariah’s album flopped because it sucked, maybe that did have something to do with The Dream, but he’s wrote and produced hits for so many others. I don’t even know…it shouldn’t matter. Just do better next time.

I don’t think Mariah’s album didn’t go to number one JUST because the songs weren’t entertaining. I think it’s a combination of low quality music and people getting tired of Mariah. She’s been going strong since the 90’s. This was bound to eventually happen.

Everybody hits this stage; Madonna, Janet Jackson, and even Michael Jackson came to a point in their career where sales weren’t as good as they had previously been. It’s called getting old in the game. Well at least that’s what I call it. After you been in the game for over ten years it’s hard to stay relevant. People move on and new artists come out that steal the spotlight. I believe this is what happened to Mariah.

On top of all that, Mariah ain’t got it like she use to. Chick be squeaking bad on those high notes. Every time she performs live there’s always an excuse for why she doesn’t sound good. To solely blame the producer isn’t right. Because the artist needs to take some blame as well.
