Reps of Jay-Z sent a Press Release today regarding the sale of his Las Vegas 40/40 franchise.

“The sale is a great business decision, we are delighted,” the rapper said in a distributed statement. “We look forward to expanding the brand even further to Chicago and Tokyo.”

The new owners will operate the space under a different name and not 40/40. The terms of the deal were not announced. (more…)

Rumor has it that Jay-Z is in talks with Las Vegas Sands Corp. -owners of the Venetian and the
Palazzo - to sell them a 50 percent stake in his sports club, 40/40, for $44 million. The rich only get richer. He’s got some good business advisors surrounding him…Love that man!

Jay-Z is going to end 2007 and begin 2008 with a BANG! He will be holding a concert in Las Vegas while opening his 40/40 franchise in the City.  According to The Los Angeles Times, Jay-Z will perform a New Year’s Eve Show at the Palms Casino on December 29th and Kanye West is also on the bill. The next night (December 30), Jay-Z will continue the expansion of his 40/40 franchise by opening his popular high-end sports lounge at the Palazzo Hotel. The 40/40’s other two lounges are located in New Jersey and New York. Tickets for Hov’s show at The Palms will be available on Saturday (December 15) at 12 p.m. via Ticketmaster…

A former sales associate at Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club has filed a lawsuit claiming she was fired because her pregnancy was considered “inconsistent’ with the “young, fashionable, unattached, and sexy” image preferred for employees. (more…)

Christopher Harris, an off duty Correction Academy cadet, was stabbed in the eye at Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club in New York City on the morning of September 29th. According to The New York Post, the victim, 26, was rushed to St. Vincent’s Hospital where he was treated for face lacerations after being attacked by Neville Dangou, 30. (more…)

Scratch magazine has officially announced that it will no longer be publishing the producer-friendly magazine. The final cover will feature 50 Cent and super-producer Timbaland on its 20th issue.

MTV Reports that Jay-Z broke out the ever-reliable two-step Tuesday night as he danced next to Beyoncé and some of his business partners. A few feet away Diddy sang Guy’s “I Like” as he danced with Kelly Rowland and had Michelle Williams within arm’s reach. The party was getting so good that even Barry Bonds had to get on  the dance floor and participate. If this was any indication of what Jay-Z’s Atlantic City 40/40 Club is going to be like, Hova is sitting on a goldmine.
