50 Cen’t reality show on MTV “The Money and the Power” has been cancelled after roughly one month on the air. LOL! The show debuted on November 6th, but will be cancelled due to disappointing ratings says MTV. The show was wack! Don’t you agree? I couldn’t even get through the first episode without flipping the channel.

A couple weeks ago, we told you that Lil Wayne leaked a dissed record aimed at 50 Cent entitled “Louisianimal”. “All about a dollar, f–k Two Quarters. Bitch, I’ll pour syrup in that vitamin water I hope you die ugly, and tonight will be gorgeous”, Lil Wayne rapped in the song. Well, we haven’t really heard any fighting words in response to the record from 50 Cent. During a recent interview on GUnit Video, 50 Cent weighs in on the Lil Wayne fued.

Just when I thought I could put the fued between 50 Cent and his baby momma over his Long Island home being burned down to rest, another story comes up. During an interview with Access Hollywood’s TV One Access, 50 Cent reveals that his home went up in flames just days after his ex-girlfriend Shaniqua Tompkins was ordered to leave the house.

“The courts told her she had to leave,” 50 Cent told TV One Access correspondent Quddus. “It’s kind of more like, ‘If I can’t have you, you can’t have it.’” 50 Cent was asked  asked if Tompkins set the fire in response to the order, but he didn’t want to say.

“Well, I don’t want to say that… don’t try to make me say something I don’t want to say,” 50 Cent stated. “But the circumstances to it might seem that way.” (more…)

Soooo..we heard that Young Buck was going to be signing with T.I.’s label, Grand Hustle. As you may recall, 50 Cent gave Young Buck the boot earlier this year because Buck distanced himself from the group. Supposedly Buck said that he wasn’t gettin’ paid for his work. T.I. met up with MTV recently and addressed the rumors about the signing of Young Buck to his label.

“Buck is a personal partner of mine,” T.I. said. “We’ve spoken, about a month or two ago, but we didn’t iron out no particulars. I would definitely be willing to speak to Buck about that, but I haven’t.” (more…)

It’s time to say goodbye to MTV Total Request Live! Celebrity guests showed up last night to say farewell to TRL. Beyonce stopped by and took the stage singing “If I Were a Boy”, “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)”, and “Crazy in Love”. Check out 50 Cent on The Tyra Banks show. He was there to promote his MTV Reality Show, THE MONEY AND THE POWER, which I think sucks! LOL!

“The Money and the Power” reality show created by 50 Cent will premiere tonight at 10 p.m. on MTV. As you may recall, 14 potential moguls will compete to earn a $100,000.00 investement from 50. One of the first challenges will debut tonight where two teams will have to navigate through Brooklyn chained together. MTV revealed that the show will feature cameos by LL Cool J, Aubrey O’Day, and Lloyd Banks. Will you be tuning in?

A judge granted 50 Cent one weekend visit a month with his son Marquise. The hearing which took less than five minutes took place yesterday. Curtis Jackson didn’t even want to have eye contact with his baby momma during the court hearing. The judge said in addition to the one weekend per month, 50 is allowed to see his son one month in the summer and Marquise will also spend half of his school’s winter and spring breaks with his father. “50 is pleased this has been settled and looks forward to spending some quality time with his son,” the rapper’s attorney Brett Kimmel tells People. “We came to an agreement,” Tompkins told People after the hearing. “Despite my feelings for his father, I want Marquise and his father to have a healthy relationship. 50 Cent will be xposing his entrepreneurial skills in his new show called The Money and the Power which premieres next month on MTV.

The show will feature 14 aspiring moguls living together in a Brooklyn warehouse dubbed “Camp Curtis.” From there, the contestants must work together through a myriad of innovative challenges in hopes of honing their business acumen. (more…)

WOW! HI HATER! 50 Cent is a true hater in my book. Check out this recent interview wherein he weighs in on Jay-Z’s success:

“I’m a big fan of Jay-Z, but outside of the States and hip-hop circles, no one really knew who he was until he married Beyonce”. The G-Unit rapper has also disputed reports that Jay-Z is worth an estimated $1 billion, but is adamant he’s not jealous of his fortune. He adds, “I don’t believe he’s worth that much! It’s all been exaggerated. I’m comfortable. I don’t want for anything so I’m not in a race.”

We previously reported that Kanye and 50 Cent were going to battle it up again in a showdown relative to the release of their albums in December of 08. 50 recently said his new album “Before I Self Destruct” will hit stores on December 9th. Well, Kanye has revealed that he doesn’t wanna wait that long to come out with this project entitled “808s And Heartbreak”. ‘Ye plans to drop his LP in November…no competition, Kanye wants to shine! Kanye’s latest blog said: “I CHANGED MY ALBUM TO NOVEMBER SOMETHING CAUSE I FINISHED THE ALBUM AND I FELT LIKE IT.. I WANT YALL TO HEAR IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE”

I think there’s another battle sizzling among Kanye and 50 Cent again. 50 Cent has revealed that his album will be dropping the same month as ‘Ye’s.

Interscope has confirmed that 50’s “Before I Self Destruct” will arrive Dec. 9, while West’s “808’s and Heartbreak” is due Dec. 16 via Def Jam.

As you may recall, last year on September 11, after publicity stunt battle, West’s album “Graduation” ended up outselling 50’s album “Curtis” during first week sales. (more…)

Soooo…50 Cent is really feelin’ some type of way about rappers rippin’ him off. In an interview with Rollingstone, 50 said that rappers like Lil Wayne stole his style to create their own hit song. He said, for example, Lil Wayne bit his Lollipop line…“‘Lollipop’ is ‘lick lick lick lick it like a lollipop,’” 50 told Rollingstone, continuing “And ‘Candy Shop’ is ‘I’ll take you to the Candy Shop/ I’ll let you lick the lollipop.’”

50 says that he is coming out with his solo project “Before I Self Destruct” later this year. He revealed that he doesn’t have to listen to whats out there to create a hit song. “I’m not really listening to anyone else’s records,” 50 said. “I’m in another space where I gotta make what I’m excited about.” “[Other rappers] can take what I’ve done for the last five years and do their version of it and be successful with momentum,” he added. “Meanwhile, I have to reinvent the wheel.”

50 Cent finally won the custody battle to see his son on a regulary basis. A Long Island Judge ruled on Monday that 50 will get to see his 11 year old son, Marquise, every other weekend until an October 22 custody trial in a Suffolk County Family Court. When asked if he was going change his lifestyle before his next court date, He suggested he has no plans to do so. “I’m going to hang out with some (women),” said the rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson. “Make some music, make some movies, and continue to kick it.” (more…)

By the year 2000, the hip-hop industry was comparable to a male football locker room. Most of the top executives were men, the majority of hip-hop artists were male, as were almost all of the producers, video directors, engineers and DJs. That basically left video model or personal assistant as the most likely career option for a woman. But as a female, if you were successful, and rose to the top of the corporate ladder, your reputation became that much more vulnerable. If you looked halfway decent, then the misconception was that you slept your way to the top. On the contrary, if you were not easy on the eyes, then you must either have been gay or related to someone. As a woman, I knew it would be hard to beat the odds. But because I had put so much time in, I wasn’t about to let the odds come between me and what I wanted.

But a woman doesn’t only have her resume to worry about, she’s also got her reputation, and when it comes to a woman’s reputation in the business of hip-hop, it’s almost customary to define her by the men she’s been linked to. Pick up any hip-hop magazine and compare the stories done on women to those done on men. I guarantee you’ll find out more about he woman’s past sex life than you will about the man’s. That code doesn’t just apply to celebrities, it’s the same behind the scenes as well. For me, it was no different. The more successful I became in the industry, the harder it became to keep people out of my personal business.

My days and nights revolved around the magazine and around hip-hop, and my social network was composed of people who were just as obsessed with money, power and hip-hop as I was. Therefore, the majority of the men that I met along the way had some sort of function in the music industry. But in this particular sect of the industry, known to us as the hip-hop culture, the usual double standard applied to women is administered in much bigger doses. Once Snoop said “Bitches Ain’t Shit,” it was a wrap for us…
