Steve Wonder will be presented with the Library of Congress’s Gershwin Prize for Popular Song by President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. During the White House tribute, Wonder will be serenaded by singers Martina McBride, who will sing Wonder’s hit “You and I,” Will.I.Am, Tony Bennett, Paul Simon and India.Arie. Obama has called Stevie Wonder his musical hero and played a lot of Wonder’s songs during his presidential campaign. The salute will be held in the White House’s East Room and broadcast Thursday night on PBS.

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama hosted their first White House state dinner in honor of US governors. This dinner was to offer reassurance and support during touch economic times.

“Our goal and aim is to make sure that we are making life easier, and not harder, for you during the time that we’re here in Washington,” Obama said during the black-tie affair. “I want you to know that regardless of our occasional difference, and in this very difficult time, my hope is that we can all work together,” he said. “And I’m confident that we can.”
Yes we can!

Have you seen the offensive cartoon that was in the New York Post Wednesday showing President Obama as a chimp similar to the one that was killed for attacking its owner’s friend recently. The cartoon by Sean Delonas showed two officers killing a chimp (who is supposed to be our President). The caption reads, “They’ll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill.” (see below)

Rev. Al Sharpton is PISSED! And so our many Americans who found this cartoon very offensive! Do you?
Sharpton’s statement:
“The cartoon in today’s New York Post is troubling at best given the historic racist attacks of African-Americans as being synonymous with monkeys,” Sharpton said. “One has to question whether the cartoonist is making a less than casual reference to this when in the cartoon they have police saying after shooting a chimpanzee that “Now they will have to find someone else to write the stimulus bill.
“Being that the stimulus bill has been the first legislative victory of President Barack Obama (the first African American president) and has become synonymous with him it is not a reach to wonder are they inferring that a monkey wrote the last bill?”
Rebuttal Statement from NY Post Editor:
“The cartoon is a clear parody of a current news event, to wit the shooting of a violent chimpanzee in Connecticut. It broadly mocks Washington’s efforts to revive the economy. Again, Al Sharpton reveals himself as nothing more than a publicity opportunist.”

Yesterday, President Obama signed a massive economic stimulus bill in Denver this afternoon, enacting a law he has said is necessary to avoid an ongoing economic catastrophe.
“Today does not mark the end of our economic troubles,” Obama said yesterday at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. “Nor does it constitute all of what we must do to turn our economy around. But it does mark the beginning of the end – the beginning of what we need to do to create jobs for Americans scrambling in the wake of layoffs; to provide relief for families worried they won’t be able to pay next month’s bills; and to set our economy on a firmer foundation, paving the way to long-term growth and prosperity.”
How do you feel about the stimulus bill?

Did you watch Barack Obama’s Press Conference last night? It took George W. Bush (our last president) nine months to hold his first conference, and our President gave us one in little over two weeks into his presidency. YESSSIR!
The reason for the Press Conference was to address our nations economic crisis. President Barack Obama insisted that only government can jolt the economy out of deep recession.

One of our loyal readers (Sassybear), told MissXpose about this disturbing article that hit the web. A bakery owner in Greenwich Village, NY was selling a cookie called “Drunken Negro Face” cookies which was supposedly in honor of our first black president, Barack Obama. (See News Clip Below). Ted Kefalinos, the owner of Lafayette French Pastry, said he didn’t see anything offensive about the cookies. After the news broadcasted the story and customers called him with death threats, he apologized to his community for selling the racist cookies.
“Seriously, from the bottom of my heart, it was an innocent design that I created and it was nothing more than just a piece of art,” he told the local Fox News affiliate. I don’t believe he is sincere!

John Legend wanted to capture the historic moment during the We Are One concert at the Lincoln Memorial during Inauguration weekend. He brought his video camera and taped the entire experience and posted it up on his website. The funny part of the video is when Legend speaks to Beyonce, and Michelle Obama cuts in by saying to our President Barack Obama… “Mr. President, you didn’t’ tell Beyonce about ‘Single Ladies’? Your rendition?” Obama laughed and said, “I’m not like Justin. I didn’t put on the outfit. …[But] I didn’t want my girls thinking that I couldn’t, you know…I got a lil something.” He then flips his hand back and forth and said, “This part, I got.”
Our President is so cool! LOL! He not only knew the Single Ladies song, but he knew the dance and also knew about the Justin Timberlake spoof on SNL. I love my President! LOL!
The Beyonce convo is at 6:48 into the video. (more…)

Wow! I’m sure you guys may I have heard about this! Aaron McGruder, creator of “The Boondocks” comic strip and animated series, left a couple people really angry at local Earlham College over comments he made about President Barack Obama. McGruder said that to him, Obama is not black because he is not a descendant of a slave. “The person who is one of us in the White House is Michelle Obama and her momma,” McGruder said. Obama’s father was Kenyan; his mother white. So friggin what? WOW!

Is this a quick scheme to make money off of this historic moment? Who knows! But Ty Inc. (creators of Beanie Babies) announced that they will be coming out with their latest dolls named “Sweet Sasha” and “Marvelous Malia”. The daughters of President Barack Obama are the inspiration for the latest in the TyGirlz Collection. So we thought…but after the Senior Vice President of sales was questioned as to if they sought permission from the President and First Lady, Ty executes said that the dolls were NOT even based on the images of the Obama girls. Ummm YEAH RIGHT? (more…)
