An announcement has been made that Bun B is scheduled to produce a tribute at the Ozone Awards honoring his late partner-in-rhyme Pimp C. The late rapper will also be recognized by an award named in his honor.The Pimp C Award notes rappers who are outspoken, much like the the UGK star. Kanye West and Lil Wayne are among the nominees for the award. The Ozone Awards take place August, 11 in Houston, Texas.

Pimp C passed away last December from a sleep apnea condition combined with a large dose of Promethazine/Codeine.

Houston rapper Bun B and NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal are teaming up to give back to the Houston community by helping feed the hungry this weekend. The duo is working with charity group Feed The Children to supply 400 families with 20,000 pounds of food.

The event will be held at The Church of Bethels where families will also be given free barbeque lunches as they have the opportunity to spend quality time with the celebrities. There will be no charge to visit as it is open to the public.

Also competing in the duo or group category are Common featuring Kanye West, Fat Joe featuring Lil Wayne, Shop Boyz, and a partnership among West, Nas and KRS-One.

In related news… Bun B’s had his First Interview Since Pimp C’s Passing. Early in the afternoon on Thursday, December 6, Bun B called VIBE from his home and gave his first interview since his dear friend and UGK cohort,  Pimp C, passed away in a Los Angeles hotel room.
