Congrats to DJ Khaled. We hear he has been named the President of Def Jam South. “This is what I’ve always wanted to do, is be an executive and take it to another level,” Khaled told MTV. “L.A. [Reid] just hit me one day. He was like, ‘We should bring Khaled on board. He makes hits, he has relationships.’ I got a team of producers and we go in hard. My job is to bring hits to the table and work with new artists and work with established artists. I’m bringing new energy to the game and to the building.” His new position will entail being responsible for records by Ludacris, Young Jeezy, Ace Hood and of course Rick Ross. Rick Ross’ new album, Deeper Than Rap, will be the first release under Khaled’s watch which he worked heavily on.

For those of you who heard a rumor that Miami DJ Khaled was shot and killed after a four hour police pursuit in L.A., its all FALSE. The rumor spread acorss the net yesterday because a man driving a $100,000 white Bently, who really looked like Khaled, was involved in a four hour chase on a Hollywood Freeway after he assaulted his girlfriend with a deadly weapon. (and no it was not Chris Brown yall! LOL!). Police confirmed that the driver of the Bently was found dead slumped over the front seat after they stormed the vehicle. (more…)

It has been officially announced that Island Def Jam will partner up with DJ Khaled for the Miami native’s new imprint We The Best Music. The debut album from rapper ACE will be the first release on We The Best Records with a street date to be announced in the coming weeks. “I’m proud to be a member of the Def Jam family,” DJ Khaled said in a statement announcing the deal. The beef between DJ Khaled and G-Unit’s Young Buck continues to stir. Drewreports reports that in a recent interview with MTV News, DJ Khaled fired back at Young Buck in response to accusations that Khaled is blackballing his music in Miami. “He’s a liar,” Khaled countered. “Tell him to make a hit record. Tell him to do me the biggest favor — tell him I said this, tell him I said it in big letters — stop making excuses and make a hit record. (more…)
