It has been confirmed by the LA County Department of Coroner that Dr. Dre’s son, Andre Young, Jr, died from an overdose of heroin and morphine. “This case has been closed, it’s been ruled an accident due to morphine and heroin intoxication,” coroner spokesman Larry Dietz. Dr. Dre and his family have been waiting for these results for four months. Its good to have closure. As you may recall, Andre Young, Jr was found dead by his mother, Jenita Porter at ther home in Woodland Hills, Calif. on August 23. So sad…

Dr. Dre’s son’s funeral was held this past weekend. Dre along with other family members served as pallbearers during the service for the 20 year old son of the famous rap pioneer. In a statement from Dr. Dre’s rep:“Dr. Dre is mourning the loss of his son Andre Young Jr. Please respect his family’s grief and privacy at this time.”

WOW…Sad news…Dr. Dre’s son died suddenly a couple of days ago. LA County Coroner reported that he body of Andre Young Jr. was found in his Woodland Hills home on Saturday morning. Dre’s son was only 20 years old! Friends say that Young was out Friday night and got home around 5:30 a.m. and his mother found him unresponsive the next morning around 10 a.m. She called 911, but by the time they got there he was dead. Dr. Dre’s mother, Verna Griffin, is plans to publish her memoirs in a new book titled Long Road Outta Compton: Dr. Dre’s Mom on Family, Fame and Terrible Tragedy. The book is scheduled to launch this June. The book will be a diary of Griffin’s personal struggles as a single mother in South Central Los Angeles. (more…)
