For being a liar, Kwame Kilpatrick lost his job as Detroit’s mayor and his freedom. A judge on Wednesday called Kilpatrick deceitful and self-serving while ordering him to come up with more than $300,000 for restitution to the city within 90 days or possibly face a return to jail. (more…)

The situation in Haiti is worse than anyone could even imagine. Rescue crews who entered into Haiti today were faced with the stench of death as bodies line the roads. The estimated death toll is said to be more than a half a million. CNN journalist Eric Marrapodi says that “a vast majority of downtown Port-au-Prince is a mess of dead bodies, rebar, and concrete”.
People line the streets trying to get into a funeral home to bury their dead…the other victims, including babies, were piled on the side of the street waiting to be identified. It is truly a devastating scene, one which has galvanized the world to help the desperate Haitians. (more…)
