The New York Times is reporting that the development of a hotel backed by rap mogul Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter has been put on hold due to the ailing economy. One of Jay-Z’s business partners told the paper they have been seeking up to $370 million from various banks to begin construction but have not been successful. I’m sure things will settle come the New Year with our New President. Hang in there Jay!

If you like than you shoulda put a fake ring on it? Hmmmm…As you know Jay-Z proposed to Beyonce with an 18-carat flawless diamond rock which is worth an estimated $5 Million! Because the ring is worth so much, he also gave her an imitation version of that ring which is worth only $5,000 so she can wear in the public eye and during on stage performances. A source tells the media that “Even though Beyonce’s real engagement ring is insured, she doesn’t always feel comfortable wearing such a valuable stone.”

In the new issue of Giant magazine, Beyonce says she prepared for the potential challenges of marriage by watching her mother and father struggle and overcome their differences as husband and wife. Beyonce reveals: “My parents are tighter now than ever, but they’ve been through it all. There were times when they were together, times when they were apart. I learned that it’s a lot of hard work, that it’s more than a dress.” Beyonce and Jay-Z married in a private ceremony earlier this year.

Jay-Z and Beyonce’s future children will forever be wealthy because their parents top the list of the RICHEST COUPLE in the business. According to Forbes, the hip-hop king and R&B queen collectively made $162 million in the past year, topping all the other celeb couples who also make big bucks. Will and Jada Pinkett Smith took the No. 2 slot, with $85 million earned together, while David and Victoria Beckham rounded out the top three with annual earnings of $58 million. “Naturally, powerful people tend to gravitate toward other powerful people,” clinical psychologist and celebrity researcher Jim Houran tells the magazine.

Damon Dash must really have nothing better to do since he is broke and pratically unemployed. Jay-Z’s former business partner, Damon Dash, is speaking out in the December issue of Complex Magazine saying that Kanye West “hated Jay-Z.”

Beyonce revealed during a recent interview that she was offered a TON of money by various media outlets for the exclusive rights to her April wedding in New York City. “Now, they offer crazy money that’s just ridiculous,” she said in an interview with the Associated Press. “But in the end…it’s so not worth it. If anything, if you wanna put something out, then put it out, not for (money).” She said that her and Jay aren’t budging though…”We worked really hard at keeping it private,” she said. “I’ve always been this way, and he’s always been this way, so that’s why we complement each other. Hip Hop has made it its duty to be active in the election campaign. With only one day remaining until the BIG ELECTION DAY, Jay-Z and Sean Diddy, Russell Simmons, Kevin Liles and Mary J Blige came thru to South Florida to encourage everyone to vote despite the long poll lines. I, Miss Xpose, was in line for five in a half hours yesterday people! You can do it too! “It’s bigger than us,” Combs said. “We have to do it for our children, we have to do it for the people that died for us to have the right to vote.” Hova, Diddy, and MJB appeared before a large crowd of almost 800 plus people at the Florida Memorial University for a “Last Chance for Change” rally Sunday afternoon. “We stood in line to get the new Lil’ Wayne CD,” Liles said. “We stood in line to get a new pair of Jordans. We stood in line to get in here. So we ain’t afraid of no lines.” SO TRUE! None of the artist performed, but they took the time to create awareness as to the importance of this campaign.

Yesterday, we reported that we heard a rumor that Jay-Z was in negotiations to sign Lil Wayne to his label Roc Nation. However, Lil Wayne’s reps have denied the rumor. They officially rebutted reports that he has signed with Jay-Z’s newly launched Roc Nation label and that Jay-Z bought out his contract for $5 Milli.

In related news, Wayne and Hova were set to co-headline JAMN’s 94.5 Monster Jam on Monday in Boston (October 27) but Weezy failed to show, after being told that his camp would have to go through strict security checks. Reports claim that the metal detector went off several times as members of Weezy’s entourage passed through security, Wayne got frustrated with the stringent security measures and decided to leave. Rumor has it that Jay-Z is the process of signing Lil Wayne to his Roc Nation label. We hear that Hova is willing to buy out Wayne’s contract with Cash Money for $5 Million to secure the deal. This deal will unite two of the hip hop industry’s biggest artist. “The deal was in the works for a while; they just needed to get on the same page as to price. And [everyone’s] there now,” an unnamed source told the online publication.

As previously reported, Roc Nation was formed between Jay-Z and concert promoter Live Nation. The company controls the rapper’s business and recording assets as part of the agreement.

Jay-Z is still supporting Senator Barack Obama. Hova and Lebron James have teamed up to offer a free rally and concert in Cleveland at The Q on October 30. The Last Chance for Change rally is free and open to all Ohio residents, however a pre-assigned ticket is required for entry. Tickets will be available at several locations throughout Cleveland. Fat Joe issued a one line statement regarding the rumor that he and Jay-Z are beefing as reported in Miss Xpose’s scoop last week…“I have no beef whatsoever with Jay-Z. In fact, we share a common goal…helping to get Barack Obama elected on Nov. 4th.”

The minute I heard the rumor, I knew it was fake, because ONE, Jay-Z is way to grown and got to many other things poppin’ to be putting out diss records now, and TWO why would he diss Fat Joe and DJ Khaled out of all people…Anywho, DJ Kay Slay played the record which features Uncle Murda and Jay-Z on Hot 97 recently. According to Miss Info, the record is WAY OLD and someone apparently is trying to stir up some unnecessary beef! Jay-Z himself said he is not wasting anytime clearing up the bufoonery either. The track is like 5-6 years old!

Even Jay-Z producer friend, Just Blaze, had to clarify the confusion, saying “So for some reason people think this “new” Jay/Uncle Murda thing is a Fat Joe Khaled dis. It’s not. It’s also like 8000 years old and somehow dude got his hands on it and put a verse on it. Now that I recall, it’s Blueprint 2 era..I was going to use this verse for the S.Carter Remix CD but we couldn’t get the Pro Tools in time. Don’t fall for the okeydoke.”

After announcing that their would be an additional Barack Obama fundraiser concert in Miami yesterday afternoon, Jay-Z left thousands of fans disappointed after the hip hop mogul cancelled the concert at the Bayfront Park Amphitheatre on Monday.

“The whole concert has had to be cancelled because it was Jay-Z who pulled out,” a Bayfront park official said. “We haven’t been told why, but I’m sure all the fans will want an explanation.” (more…)
