I love this dude…he is always working on something new. Jay-Z has joined forces with Norwegian production team Stargate to create a new music label call StarRoc! It has been reported that Stargate have relocated their studio from Manhattan to Jay-Z’s Roc The Mic studios.Stargate is comprised of Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel S. Eriksed. The duo has produced an array of hits including Ne-Yo’s “So Sick” and Beyonce’s “Irreplaceable”.

I wonder if Beyonce will be sign to her hubby’s label?

Jay-Z finally came forward to address accusations that Foxy Brown and Teairra Mari have brought about regarding their tenure at Roc-a-Fella Records. As previously reported, Teairra Mari xposed that she was really hurt that Jay-Z never contacted her to tell her that she was getting dropped from the label due to lack of records sales and Foxy has told the media repeatedly that Jay-Z never checked on her while she was in jail. So Jay-Z felt obligated to clear his record that he isn’t the bad guy here… “As far as Foxy or Teairra Marì, these are people that I have given chances to. It’s understandable that they would be upset, but you got to look at it from my point of view as well,” Jay-Z told AllHipHop.com. (more…)

Funny story…Neyo had a very embarrassing moment recently. The R&B superstar pissed off Jay-Z after he threw up near Hova’s expensive car. Neyo was party hopping with Jay-Z and got super drunk. Neyo said, he will NEVER drink again after that embarrassing incident.

Neyo explains, “I learned the hard way that me and liquor do not mix. I’m not the violent one, I am just the one throwing up.

“I went out with Jay-Z once. Shots came around but around the fifth I noticed that no one else was drinking them.

“Nine later and I was throwing up outside of Jay-Z’s car.

“He threatened to send me the cleaning bill if I was sick inside.” (more…)

Reps of Jay-Z sent a Press Release today regarding the sale of his Las Vegas 40/40 franchise.

“The sale is a great business decision, we are delighted,” the rapper said in a distributed statement. “We look forward to expanding the brand even further to Chicago and Tokyo.”

The new owners will operate the space under a different name and not 40/40. The terms of the deal were not announced. (more…)

T.I. is pissed that a hit record which is featured on his upcoming LP got leaked on the net last Friday! And believe me when I say this, the track is HOT. On the track entitled “Swagger Like Us”, you will find the dream team, T.I., Jay-Z, Lil Wayne (of course), and Kanye West.

T.I. would like to know how the song leaked. It’s one of the premier records from his forthcoming LP, Paper Trail. “That’s some bullsh–,” a disappointed Tip told MTV News Saturday afternoon (August 23) via phone. “I’m beating down the Internet as we speak.” T.I. said the track wasn’t supposed to be debuted so soon.
Swagger Like Us is getting some GREAT reaction thus far…I’m sure the leak will serve its purpose and hopefully bless T.I. with a platinum album. (more…)

Last year Jay-Z was topping the list, but this year there’s a new king. 50 Cent usurped Jay-Z as the top earner with $150 million grossed in the last year. What did it for 50 Cent was his stake in Vitamin Water’s parent company Glaceau which was bought by Coca Cola for $4.1 Billion. 50 Cent’s investments also include video games, G-Unit clothing/records, and a pending partnership in South Africa with billionaire mining baron Patrice Motsepe. Palazzo – to sell them a 50 percent stake in his sports club, 40/40, for $44 million. The rich only get richer. He’s got some good business advisors surrounding him…Love that man!
