Congrats to Jill Scott! The R&B Soul songstress xposed that she is expecting her first child! She said that she found out that she was pregnant while promoting her new HBO series “The No.1 Detective Agency”. She is now sixth months preggers!  “The first trimester I spent in Botswana,” said the star, who is due April 25. “That was one of the biggest challenges of my life. First trimester! You’re sick every morning. It was seven hours time difference, the heat, the bugs, the 14 hour days.” (more…)

Jill Scott has confirmed that she is indeed in love and engaged to her sweetheart, famous drummer, Lil John Roberts.

Jill Scott Says in a recent interview:
“Yes, I am engaged. And there’s a wedding to be planned. Life is really good for me now, and we are enjoying each other. No there isn’t a date set yet. We can’t. He’s out rehearsing for the tour with Janet [Jackson]… But I’d do it tomorrow if I could. And I know he would, but you know, we want a wedding. I never had one. He’s never had one. And we want to be around family and friends and really do it — because this is it! I mean, right now, I’m glowing. John’s such a good guy….And you know there’s been a little bit of an issue with the media saying, you know, ‘Jill jumped up and is marrying this drummer.’ This is a master percussionist we’re talking about here. I’m talking, at 15 years old he was playing with Wynton Marsalis. It’s not healthy, not nice, for your mate to be diminished. He’s an incredible musician. An incredible man.” [John's proposal] “You know, I have to keep some things for us … But I will say he did it splendidly!”

We hear from Allure Magazine that they have chosen Gabrielle Union and Jill Scott among five other celebrities to bare there naked bodies in their May Issue. Jill Scott adds another gig to her acting resume. The neo soul songstress scored a deal with HBO. Her two hour film “The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency” will serve as the pilot for a 13 episode run on HBO network. The film was shot on location in Botswana by director Anthony Minghella (”The English Patient”) from a script he wrote with Richard Curtis (”Four Weddings and a Funeral”). Based on the best-selling crime books by Alexander McCall Smith, the series stars Jill Scott as Precious Ramotswe, the owner of the only female-owned detective agency in Botswana. (more…)

Essence Music Festival organizers have announced some of the acts that will take part in the 2008 festival in July. Kanye West, Chris Rock, Chris Brown, Mary J. Blige, Jill Scott, Morris Day and The Time, and Maze featuring Frankie Beverly are the acts announced in a news release Thursday. Essence is billed as “the nation’s largest annual African-American event celebrating Black music and culture.” (more…)

Jill Scott explains that her chest area is both a blessing and a curse. In a recent interview with the Associated Press, Jill explains “I have large breasts,” I’ve been blessed with them, and I need something that can support (them).” Singer/Actress said she tried everything from custom made bras to wearing two bras at a time, but nothing gives her that “support” she needs. Her solution?  The new “Butterfly” bra for plus-size store Ashley Stewart.   The bra which Ashley Stewart says is “inspired” by Scott, puts additional fabric and support on the back of the bra rather than on the shoulder straps.    “I got tired of the hurting shoulders — that’s not nice,” said Scott. After he recent divorce frm her husband Lyzell, Jill Scott has been rumored to be dating…According to the New York Post, the neo-soul beauty was working with photographer Michael Thompson and stylist Paul Cavaco when someone in the room caught her eye.  “She liked the male model,” a source told Page Six. She later was spotted on a  lunch date with the “hunky Hispanic model.” sources say.

Rumor has it that Jill Scott was dating actor Lamman Rucker, especially because they walked in together (holding hands) during the BET Honors. As may know, Lamman is the man she fell in love with in the Tyler Perry movie, “Why did I get Married?” However, based on this clip, Lamman might be dating another voluptious beauty! check this out!
