Rapper Jim Jones has a new gig! He recently was appointed the new Vice President of Urban A&R for Koch Records. The label announced the news yesterday (Monday). Jones is responsible for signing and nurturing new talent tot he record label. Jones is very excited about his new role. “It feels good to know that the hard work has been recognized by the same people that have helped me get to this point in my career. They recognize that I’m not only an artist but a person that can smell talent and be able to mold a superstar,” Jones said in a statement.

Alan Grunblatt, KOCH Records’ General Manager, states, “Jim Jones put KOCH on the map. He truly knows what it takes to make a hit record. I am thrilled to be working with him for many years to come.”

So I was listening to the Ricky Smiley show this morning and I heard that Jim Jones didn’t start his new year off too good. He turned himself in at the 18th precinct in New York yesterday after being involved in an altercation/fight at a Louis Vuitton store with an associate of Ne-Yo. The details aren’t too clear. I’ve heard different versions of the story, but rumor has it that Jones got into a fight with Ne-Yo or an associate of Jay-Z who now works for Ne-Yo at the Luis Vuitton store on 5th Street in Manhattan. We hear that Ne-Yo got scared and ran out of the store when the fight began…Ricky Smiley and Deez Nuts were clowning on Ne-Yo saying that he was a punk for running off…but maybe he just didn’t want to associate himself with the fiasco. What do you think?

“I don’t wanna talk about that,” Jones told MTV News last week, refusing to comment on the incident. “Nah, we not doing that, let’s stop that right there. Let’s not do that. We above that.”

The Hip Hop Police still don’t like Jim Jones! Dipset was to appear at the Root’s “Okayplayer Holiday Jammy” at New York City’s B.B. Kings Blues Club last week, but was denied entrance by the venue’s security. Access Denied Capo! LOL! Check out the clip where you can see Jones getting angry at security and being removed from the premises. “You made it worse, you d*ck head,” Jones shouted at one security guard before pulling out his camera phone. “I got you on my radar. Let me get a picture of this fat bastard. Let me make you safe. Don’t touch me. Don’t touch me, you pu*&y!”

This is interesting…Jim Jones was so inspired by our President-elect, Barack Obama, that he has chosen to trade in his use of the N-word…Jones says he plans on replacing the N-word with “Obama” and the B-word with “Michelle”. OH MY!

Jim Jones announced that he will tell his life story on a new “Off-Broadway” stage production. The play will be entitled The Jim Jones Project. It is scheduled to take place in New York City November 12-13th. The musical is scheduled to take place November 12 and 13 in New York City. “It’s a new and different way that Jim is showcasing his music,” an insider says. “He’s taking his upcoming album and telling his life story via the album and the actors are acting it out as a play to release his album. The upcoming album is the soundtrack to the play.”  Would you go see it?

So we hear that Dipset rapper, Jim Jones, is bitchin’ about how he was left out T.I.’s hit single “Swagger Like Us”. WTF? In a recent interview with Complex Magazine, Jones says he was deliberately left off the track which is featured on T.I.’s album Paper Trail.

“I think it was deliberate. I really do think it was deliberate; maybe in my sick twisted mind I’m a little crazy. People know who set the precedent as far as fashion in this industry and people know who damn near changed the world as far as fashion. You look at people, they went from the urban world of clothing, back when Rocawear and Sean John was cool. And then in the past 5 years I stepped in and gave them a taste of what rock and roll looks like from my side. I guess people would say from an urban side, and it seemed to catch on like wildfire, to the point that people was going to stores and asking for that Jim Jones look.”

Jones revealed that he is coming out with his own Swagger Like Us version.

“Me and Juelz had Chink do our own beat, I have Weezy’s verse in my inbox right now and we kept the hook of that song because it was a sample. So we’re going to put that as a bonus track on the album, and put it to the streets. “No one on the corner got swag like you we don’t Rocawear that’s for fags like you.”

Since Cam’ron has been laying low, Juelz Santana and Jim Jones became the face of the Diplomats/Dipset movement. Well, although Cam’ron has been hard to pin down, he is making BIG moves…Cam’ron recently sold Juelz Santana contract to Def Jam for $2 Million. Like Jim Jones, Juelz also distanced himself from his former mentor.

In an email posted on Miss Info’s website, Juelz had this to say about his contract being sold to Def Jam:

“A! What’s good !! Yeah, I’m free!! And ready to do me!! But its still Dip Set 4 life!! Its just going to be a new chapter!!” he stated. Although he said that it was “still Dip Set 4 life,” he followed by addressing his relationship with Killa Cam.

“I have no hard feeling for Cam, after all, he did give me a chance!!! But I will say this I was loyal to him and he took advantage.”

“Mixtape coming up soon, my solo mixtape (’the Reagan Era’),” he revealed

“I have a joint venture with Def Jam, a 50/50 deal,” he continued. “Yeah, it’s a new boss in town. Album is called Born to Lose, Built to Win!!!! (The rise of the skullgang).

Max B, former member of Jim Jones’ ByrdGang, has signed a three-album deal with the hip-hop online company Amalgam Digital. Max will join the Amalgam Digital roster – which includes Peedi Crakk and Joe Budden. The Harlem rapper is best known for ghostwriting Jim Jones’ monster single, “We Fly High (Ballin).” Max B will release Public Domain III: Domain Pain (The Album) this summer in the streets than will debut album Vigilante Season on the Amalgam Digital label shortly after.

So we hear that Max was recently seen on a YouTube video sparking some controversial statements against Jones.

It has been reported that the invitation for rapper and hip-hop mogul Jim Jones to perform at a Jersey City school on National HIV Testing Day has been rescinded, with city officials saying his work promotes violence.

Officials say they nixed the invite from the city Department of Health and Human Services when they read some of Jones’ lyrics.

Jones has been very candid about losing his father and uncle to AIDS. City spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill said that while the June 27 event has been canceled, the city is offering free HIV testing at several locations through the end of June.

“The City of Jersey City is proud to sponsor events during the month of June that encourage our residents to be tested for HIV/AIDS,” Morrill said. “When it was brought to the attention of the Mayor’s Office staff that Mr. Jones was the star of the concert, a careful review of Mr. Jones’ lyrics was done and ultimately the decision was made to cancel the show.

“Mayor (Jerramiah) Healy has always been a proponent of positive outlets for our youth and a strong gun control advocate,” she added. “Mr. Jones’ lyrics speak of violence to women and police, of the drug trade and guns, and other activities that Mayor Healy could not endorse by sponsoring an event featuring Mr. Jones.”

According to Allhiphop, a bodyguard for Harlem rap star Jim Jones was arrested following Jones’ peaceful performance during Hot 97’s annual Summer Jam concert last night (June 1) at Giants Stadium in New Jersey. After the show ended around 10:30 PM, the rapper’s entourage became involved in a skirmish with police officers, who accused Jones’ entourage of attempting to incite a riot, by making references to the Sean Bell shooting.
According to The New Jersey Record, police officers arrested Charles Chandler, 26, for allegedly grabbing a trooper’s head and face with both hands. Another officer intervened and restrained Chandler, who was arrested and released on $15,000 dollars bail. Other than the fracas backstage, Hot 97’s Summer Jam was relatively peaceful.
Over 44,000 people showed up for the annual concert, which featured performances by Ray J. and Yung Berg, Alicia Keys, Raekwon, Method Man, Ghostface, Funkmaster Flex, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Young Jeezy, Public Enemy and numerous others.

We also heard that Kanye West got into it with the Dipset camp because he was mad that he wasn’t the opening act. This story is not confirmed, but thats what my sources tell me.

Jim Jones will make an appearance at the National HIV Testing Day ceremony in Jersey City, New Jersey. The Dipset member will be speaking on the importance of being tested for AIDS. The event will take on  June 27, at middle school PS # 4 107. Organized by the City of Jersey City, National HIV Testing Day is a community mobilization and social marketing campaign that encourages people to take advantage of voluntary HIV counseling, testing and prevention services. In addition to appearing at the National HIV Testing Day event, Jones will be awarded a Proclamation from the City of Jersey City. New Jersey Senator Sandra Cunningham and Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy will be on hand to present the rapper with the honor.

Jim Jones and Juelz Santana got denied at Chris Brown’s album release party sponsored by Target the other night, and hell broke loose…this is what happened:

Jim Jones showed up with rapper Juelz Santana and an entourage of a dozen beefy buddies. We watched as Jones took it personally. “You don’t disrespect me, n-!” he yelled as he knocked down the security barricade. Santana and the entourage then bowled over the three bouncers at the door. Twelve more guys followed and a brawl ensued as they tried to pry open the door of the popular nightspot.

As mentioned in previous scoop, Cam’ron of Dipset seem to be in hiding for a long time. Especially after releasing his home made Youtube video clip of him warning 50 Cent that it was going to be a “hot summer”. According to his interview with radio personality Miss Info, during the summer his mother suffered from several strokes which caused her to become paralyzed on one side of her body resulting in Cam’s hiatus. The rapper said he has moved his mother to Florida and arranged for her rehabilitation and therapy. He also took some time away to get his business affairs in order primarily due to the fact that him and his label weren’t seeing eye to eye and a lot of things. “We recently worked things out,” Cam said. “We had a conversation with the lawyers and with Todd (Moscowitz), so now we’re straight. I wasn’t gonna drop the mixtape until that happened….”

The Dipset member said that even though things were fine as far as his mother’s health, he still staggered his return and instead decided to examine the way those around him behaved. “Even when I had my mom situated, she had the help she needs, the physical therapy, everything was right-that was like a month ago-I still laid low, because when I come out it’s gonna be done it right,” he said. “But I just sat back and bugged out at how everyone else was acting. I heard all the rumors, mad felonious s–t, fake s–t. And I would tell n—-s, my moms just had a stroke, and they’d be like ‘Oh, ok, so are you still coming through?’ Fam, what is wrong with you?” “I ain’t talked to nobody, but I kept hearing all these stories,” he continued. “Cam was in a car crash. Cam was begging for a deal. Some hood DVD dudes were up on [140th St] to try to find me. Folks were asking for interviews. I’m like Bigfoot, its crazy!”

Cam says he is dropping a double mixtape, “Public Enemy #1,” as a preview of his next full-length effort, which is set to drop in either February or March of 2008. The mixtape, which will be available tomorrow for FREE and is dropping the day after fellow crew member Jim Jones’ mixtape and Jay-Z’s American Gangster. Cam also mentioned that he hasn’t spoken to Jim Jones in a long time!

I saw Cam’ron at club “DREAM” in South Beach this past Saturday. Due to the fact that I was partying like a rock star, I was unable to get a first hand interview with the Harlemlite. But he was definitely out of hiding and having a good time at club DREAM! Shout out to SassyP!

Jim Jones recently announced that he’ll be dropping a free mixtape, “Harlem’s American Gangsta,” on November 6. According to fellow gossip princess Miss Info, the mixtape is a direct response to Jay-Z’s new concept album, American Gangster, the unofficial soundtrack to the Denzel Washington flick of the same name. Both discs will hit shelves on the same day. To make matters worse, the Dipset member asked Hov’s former business partner Dame Dash to host his disc.

“Harlem’s American Gangsta” will drop a day before Cam’ron’s mixtape is scheduled to be released. Jimmy admitted to have a little “family” beef between Cam and himself.

In related news…XXL reports that according to a statement on the Roc-A-Fella website, the five-city club tour that Jay-Z planned to support his American Gangster album sold out less than 60 seconds after tickets went on sale today. The site claims that the Philadelphia show sold out in 30 seconds, the Los Angeles show in 11 seconds, and the Chicago show in just 8 seconds. While other appearences are rumored in Washington, DC and Atlanta, details have yet to emerge. The scheduled show dates are as follows:

JIM JONES IS STILL BALLIN’ outta control…The Dipset affiliate/rapper has left Koch Records and is now a recording artist under Columbia, reports Billboard.com. The deal, however, does not affect his pre-existing gig as A&R director at Warner Music Group.”It’s a 50/50 joint venture with Columbia for my production company as well, Jones Family productions,” Jones tells Billboard.

 “Shout to Rick Rubin for believing in my artistry and Kyambo ‘Hip-Hop’ Joshua for being my partner in this process. Shout to Koch Records as well, because I broke a lot of ground with them and they gave me my own lane. ” His debut for Columbia is in the works, with a targeted release date of early 2008. His new single, “They Don’t Love Me No More,” is scheduled to arrive in a few weeks with a corresponding video.

According to NY’s Miss Info, Jim Jones has signed a multi-million dollar deal joint venture deal with Sony. “I just left the lawyer’s office. I signed a multimillion dollar joint venture with Sony. My boss is Rick Rubin and Hip Hop (Kyambo Joshua) is doing my albums with me. What you think Jay-Z is gonna think about that?” Jim Jones said to Miss Info in a phone call. “What’s crazy is that they gave me the same deal that Un and them fucked up back in the day when they got the Sony/Untertainment deal….I got that joint venture, that 50/50 split, they don’t give those out anymore. That’s a Dame Dash, Ruff Ryders deal. And I’m bout to go crazy with it. I’m gonna be a problem.”
