Since Cam’ron has been laying low, Juelz Santana and Jim Jones became the face of the Diplomats/Dipset movement. Well, although Cam’ron has been hard to pin down, he is making BIG moves…Cam’ron recently sold Juelz Santana contract to Def Jam for $2 Million. Like Jim Jones, Juelz also distanced himself from his former mentor.
In an email posted on Miss Info’s website, Juelz had this to say about his contract being sold to Def Jam:
“A! What’s good !! Yeah, I’m free!! And ready to do me!! But its still Dip Set 4 life!! Its just going to be a new chapter!!” he stated. Although he said that it was “still Dip Set 4 life,” he followed by addressing his relationship with Killa Cam. (more…)
Max B, former member of Jim Jones’ ByrdGang, has signed a three-album deal with the hip-hop online company Amalgam Digital. Max will join the Amalgam Digital roster – which includes Peedi Crakk and Joe Budden. The Harlem rapper is best known for ghostwriting Jim Jones’ monster single, “We Fly High (Ballin).” Max B will release Public Domain III: Domain Pain (The Album) this summer in the streets than will debut album Vigilante Season on the Amalgam Digital label shortly after.
So we hear that Max was recently seen on a YouTube video sparking some controversial statements against Jones.
“Shout-out to Chrissy, I love you baby,” he laughingly said. “She touched it in Miami. That’s Jim Jones wife by the way, oh yeah.”
It has been reported that the invitation for rapper and hip-hop mogul Jim Jones to perform at a Jersey City school on National HIV Testing Day has been rescinded, with city officials saying his work promotes violence.
Officials say they nixed the invite from the city Department of Health and Human Services when they read some of Jones’ lyrics.
Jones has been very candid about losing his father and uncle to AIDS. City spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill said that while the June 27 event has been canceled, the city is offering free HIV testing at several locations through the end of June. (more…)
According to Allhiphop, a bodyguard for Harlem rap star Jim Jones was arrested following Jones’ peaceful performance during Hot 97’s annual Summer Jam concert last night (June 1) at Giants Stadium in New Jersey. After the show ended around 10:30 PM, the rapper’s entourage became involved in a skirmish with police officers, who accused Jones’ entourage of attempting to incite a riot, by making references to the Sean Bell shooting. Jim Jones will make an appearance at the National HIV Testing Day ceremony in Jersey City, New Jersey. The Dipset member will be speaking on the importance of being tested for AIDS. The event will take on June 27, at middle school PS # 4 107. Organized by the City of Jersey City, National HIV Testing Day is a community mobilization and social marketing campaign that encourages people to take advantage of voluntary HIV counseling, testing and prevention services. Jim Jones and Juelz Santana got denied at Chris Brown’s album release party sponsored by Target the other night, and hell broke loose…this is what happened:
Jim Jones showed up with rapper Juelz Santana and an entourage of a dozen beefy buddies. We watched as Jones took it personally. “You don’t disrespect me, n-!” he yelled as he knocked down the security barricade. Santana and the entourage then bowled over the three bouncers at the door. Twelve more guys followed and a brawl ensued as they tried to pry open the door of the popular nightspot.

As mentioned in previous scoop, Cam’ron of Dipset seem to be in hiding for a long time. Especially after releasing his home made Youtube video clip of him warning 50 Cent that it was going to be a “hot summer”. According to his interview with radio personality Miss Info, during the summer his mother suffered from several strokes which caused her to become paralyzed on one side of her body resulting in Cam’s hiatus. Jim Jones recently announced that he’ll be dropping a free mixtape, “Harlem’s American Gangsta,” on November 6. According to fellow gossip princess Miss Info, the mixtape is a direct response to Jay-Z’s new concept album, American Gangster, the unofficial soundtrack to the Denzel Washington flick of the same name. JIM JONES IS STILL BALLIN’ outta control…The Dipset affiliate/rapper has left Koch Records and is now a recording artist under Columbia, reports Billboard.com. The deal, however, does not affect his pre-existing gig as A&R director at Warner Music Group.”It’s a 50/50 joint venture with Columbia for my production company as well, Jones Family productions,” Jones tells Billboard.
According to NY’s Miss Info, Jim Jones has signed a multi-million dollar deal joint venture deal with Sony. “I just left the lawyer’s office. I signed a multimillion dollar joint venture with Sony. My boss is Rick Rubin and Hip Hop (Kyambo Joshua) is doing my albums with me. What you think Jay-Z is gonna think about that?” Jim Jones said to Miss Info in a phone call. (more…)
