As previously reported, BET Honors went down this past weekend. We heard there was a bit of drama on the set. Keyshia Cole was supposed to sing one of Mary J Blige’s song for a BET Honor Tribute to Blige. But we hear that Blige’s husband/manager, Kendu Isaacs, said NO to the idea. “He thought there was already too much comparison between Keyshia and Mary,” an insider said. “They were going back and forth on it all week. Keyshia Cole was interviewed by HOT 97’s Angie Martinez a couple weeks ago. It got really personal and Keyshia Cole revealed her feelings about her ex, Young Jeezy after Funk Master Flex interrogated her, LOL! Thanks to my girl Necole Bitchie. I’ve been looking for this interview for a lil minute.

Keyshia Says:

I just couldn’t do it. It’s weird. After this guy proposed to me, I was like, dang, this is everything a woman lives for: to be married, with a ring, to be able to represent something. But for me, it was the opposite. I was scared. When you get married, you become one; you don’t live just for yourself anymore. I’m just not ready for that. I’m not done with my goals in life. What’s the word when you just kind of fall back and let your man do the man thing? Submit? I’m all jacked up on that word. I just couldn’t submit. But I loved him. That’s the crazy thing about it.

Keyshia Cole’s album “A Different Me” dropped yesterday 12/16/08. This is the songstress third solo project. “It’s more up-tempo and lighter. It’s also sexier,” the R&B artist says in an interview. “I’m moving forward and growing. This is supposedly Keyshia Cole’s album cover for “A Different Me” which is set to hit the shelves on December 16, 2008. The album is Keyshia Cole’s third solo album.

The album focuses less on heartache and more on maturity of her vocals and lyrics. Cole explained that, “The first two albums were more…painful. It’s a different me this time: a young woman who’s still growing and finding myself, exploring life through different routes musically and in other areas. I wrote more about other people’s situations than my own. I’m moving forward.”

BET is proud to announce that Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is Season 3 is the network’s most watched show totalling 1.9 million viewers who tuned in Tuesday night when the show premiered.

The show posted a 10% increase in viewing among households compared to last year’s premiere, maintaining the series’ consistent year-to-year household growth with each season premiere (1.18 million and 1.24 million households for season one and two, respectively). (more…)
