Lebron James threw a party entitled “Eighty81 Presents a night with Lebron “King” James” in Buckhead, GA this past weekend. He was in town for the Cavaliers vs. Hawks game. Lebron James is looking quite debonair on the cover of the new issue of GQ magazine. “You look good, you play good,” James said Monday after practice. “I was brought up that way.” Lebron says he takes great pride in his wardrobe and tries to stay ahead of the style curve. Jay-Z is still supporting Senator Barack Obama. Hova and Lebron James have teamed up to offer a free rally and concert in Cleveland at The Q on October 30. The Last Chance for Change rally is free and open to all Ohio residents, however a pre-assigned ticket is required for entry. Tickets will be available at several locations throughout Cleveland. Tickets will be made available beginning Friday, October 24 between the hours of 9AM and 9PM. Lebron James will serve as a host of the event. (more…)

The 2008 world’s most powerful celebrities list put together by Forbes has Oprah Winfrey at #1followed by Tiger Woods at #2. The top celebrity list is compiled using several measures outside of the amount of money these stars are pulling in. Factored in with earnings are media metrics such as Google hits, press, television and radio mentions as well as the number of top consumer magazine covers the stars snag. Other notables on the list include Beyonce at #4, Jay-Z #7, Will Smith #11 and LeBron James #16.

In Game 4 of the playoff series, Lebron James was driving to the basket with opponent Paul Pierce of the Boston Celtics when Pierce wrapped him up and the momentum carried them both into the courtside crowd under the basket. Gloria James, Lebron’s mother, was sitting near courtside when her son was dragged out of bounds. She jumped up to his defense and she started screaming at Pierce (watch Video below). You could tell that Lebron was clearly upset that his mother got involved. He told her to “Sit your a$$ down!” before walking back on the court. LOL! Wizards’ center Brendan Haywood straight dissed Lebron James. He said he thinks that LeBron James needs to stop whining about the rough play and simply play basketball.

Beef everywhere! As you may know, Washington Wizards star, Deshawn Stevenson, called Lebron James “OVERRATED”. Lebron responded by telling the media that responding to Stevenson’s comments was like “Jay-Z responding to Soulja Boy.” The beef was ongoing for the first three games of the playoffs series. But Lebron James brought in a good friend to back him up. According to the Washington Post, Jay-Z has recorded a track for LeBron aimed at Stevenson and the Wizards. LeBron James never would have thought his Vogue cover with supermodel Gisele Bundchen would be criticized. ESPN columnist and commentator Jemele Hill saw racist undertones in the photograph with the supermodel. Hill went on to say, “Vogue’s quest to highlight the differences between superstar athletes and supermodels only successfully reinforces the animalistic stereotypes frequently associated with black athletes.”
