 Chris Brown won four awards, including Choice Music Male Artist and Choice Music R’n'B Artist. Meanwhile the show’s host, teen phenomenon Miley Cyrus took home the Choice Music Female Artist and Choice TV Actress Comedy accolades, while her show, Hannah Montana won the Choice TV Show Comedy.

The Roots’ seventh group album, Rising Down, debuts at the top spot of Billboard’s ‘Top Rap Albums Chart’ this week with scans of 53,900 copies in its opening week. Go Ahead Roots! The album features appearances from Common, Dice Raw and Saigon. Debuting at No. 2 is Lil Mama with her first solo effort titled V.Y.P. (Voice Of The Young People).  The set sold 18,600 discs in its first go-around. Rick Ross is right behind her sitting at No. 3.  Trilla reeled in 18,300 units this week.  After 9 weeks on the chart, the album has sold 484,000 copies. No. 5 spot  is Flo Rida. Mail On Sunday shells off 12,800 discs in its 7th week on the charts.  To date, the album has sold 214,000 copies. Snoop Dogg slips two spots to No. 6.  Ego Trippin’ bags up 10,100 units this week.  So far, the album has sold a total of 301,400. Holding down the No. 7 spot is Trina.  8,100 folks picked up Still Da Baddest this week, pushing the album’s total sales to 95,300. Go Trina!

Lil Mama’s album “Voice of the Young People” drops Today…Her hit single “Shawty Get Loose” featuring T-Pain made it high on the  Billboard charts leaving her fans in anticipation for this long awaited album. Lil Mama recently shot her new video for “What It is (Strike A Pose)” featuring T-Pain. The two express their great chemistry in the studio…

Rev. Run, Bow Wow and Lil Mama have joined forces for a Public Service Announcement entitled “I Will Graduate” to curb the high school dropout rate. Other celebrities such as John Starks (The New York Knicks), Jaslene Gonzalez (America’s Next Top Model) and R&B star Omarion have also teamed with The Entertainers 4 Education Alliance (E4EA) to stress the importance of graduation. E4EA is a non-profit organization that works with a number of high profile rappers, actors and athletes to encourage high school students to focus on education.  

“We are very excited about launching this campaign,” said E4EA co-founder Tonya Lewis. “Our goal is to grab the attention of our youth in yet another attempt to encourage them to choose education. We hope everyone will join us with our movement as we look to help change the trajectory of today’s at risk youth.”
