Lil Wayne will be launching his own brand of champagne. The New Orleans rap artist, who says “he doesn’t like alcohol”, has partnered with Milestone Brands and French grower Voirin-Jumeh to create “Halo Champagne”. Wayne introduced the drink in his video for “Lollipop”. “I’m excited about this venture with Milestone Brands,” Lil Wayne said. “Champagne is for celebrating. There are so many different business opportunities…I want to take advantage of it all. I’m ready to put my foot in a new door.” (more…)

So check this out,  a “fake” concert promoter, named Tony Lee of Coastal Boy Entertainment, promised club manager Esa Jones that Lil Wayne would be in attendance to perform at Club Illusions in Alabama on Saturday. Well it was a big SCAM! After 700 tickets were sold for the June 21 show, the fans were left hanging because Lil Wayne wasn’t even really schedule to be there. “We got scammed real bad,” said Jones. “It looked planned, they printed tickets, had radio advertisements, ticket locations, it looks so legit.”  A police investigation has now been launched into the alleged fraud. Wayne’s performance at the Voodoo Experence is LEGIT though. Lil Wayne has joined the roster of performers booked for the Voodoo Experience in New Orleans, to be held Oct. 24-26 at New Orleans’ City Park, reports Billboard.  (more…)

Lil Wayne confirmed with MTV that T-Pain and himself will be joining forces to form a supergroup. Weezy revealed the news on Monday while on the set of Cassie’s new video for her single “Official Girl” in which he has a cameo.
 
This is what he had to say about T-Pain and his work ethic:
 
“We both have the same energy,” he said. “I don’t sleep. If you ask anybody, I don’t sleep. I think it’s the cousin of death. As much as you sleep, you’re impersonating death to me. He don’t sleep. I play all day. He plays all day and all night. The connection is crazy. He loves to be creative, he loves to work; I love to create, I love to work. He really wants people to respect his rapping; I really want people to respect my harmonizing.”

Although Chuck T leaked Lil Wayne’s album last week in response to his comments about mixtape DJs, it still looks like Tha Carter III is going to do very well. The album actually landed on the Billboard charts. The album was released Tuesday, however, according to SoundScan, the LP already sits at number 171 on the Top 200.
