Madonna and her husband Guy Ritchie called it quits after eight years of marriage. A rep for the couple confirmed the rumors today. “Madonna and Guy Ritchie have agreed to divorce after seven-and-a-half years of marriage. They have both requested that the media maintain respect for their family at this difficult time,” reads the short statement e-mailed to the Associated Press by Liz Rosenberg.

The statement, which was co-signed by Ritchie’s representative, also said that the couple had not agreed to a settlement. “The judgment of the court would be to try and assess what they came in with and divide what they built up fairly equally,” said David Allison, a lawyer with Family Law in Partnership, a London firm, told the AP.

Pop star Madonna has revealed the name of her new album and has tapped a number of Hip-Hop producers to help her craft the album sonically. The album titled Hard Candy, features production by Pharrell Williams, Timbaland and Nate “Danja” Hills. With those producers on board, the album should get great reviews…

According to Lucy O’Brien’s new book, “Madonna: Like an Icon,” which came out today, Madonna and Tupac almost had a love child? O’Brien says Madonna, in her mid-30s, “desperately wanted children and had various relationships with unlikely men.” The singer’s friend Alison Clarkson recalls when she was briefly dating Tupac Shakur, one year before his death and tried to get pregnant with his baby.  “She was going out with him … but homegirls were saying to him, ‘I can’t believe you’re going out with a white girl,’” – so she got dumped! says the author.
