“You are officially in the loop”
I love my people! LOL! So how about Michelle Obama is being ambushed by all these hairdressers in the DC area who want to be the First Lady’s “personal hairdresser”.
Barry Fletcher, the 52-year-old owner of The Hair Palace Salon in Mitchellville, Md. said “I’m going to be doing her hair”…Confidant huh! “This would pretty much validate all of my hard work and effort to get to a level where I could handle a powerful queen like the First Lady,” added Fletcher, who sent Michelle Obama a 17-minute DVD about himself.
Well Fletcher has some competition! Hairdresser Keith Harley of Keith Harley Hair & Scalp Clinic in Arlington, Va. uploaded his resume to President-elect Barack Obama’s Web site a month ago.”It would be the highlight of my career. It would be an honor,” said 39-year-old Harley, who styles Black Entertainment Television chief executive Debra Lee. (more…)
A black female columnist from Salon.com wrote an article giving props to Michelle Obama’s booty! LOL, no lie! The article was tasteful… “I’m a black woman who never thought I’d see a powerful, beautiful female with a body like mine in the White House. Then I saw Michelle Obama — and her booty!” writes Erin Aubry Kaplan “…”Barack’s better half not only has stature but is statuesque. She has coruscating intelligence, beauty, style and — drumroll, please — a butt.” (Yes, you read that right: I’m going to talk about the first lady’s butt.)” Read More of the Article Here

GQ magazine has named President-elect Barack Obama as one of its “Men of the Year”. For all I’m concerned, he is the MAN OF THE YEAR, lol
The article was penned by Senator Ted Kennedy that went to press before Election Day. Obama is joined by Michael Phelps, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Jon Hamm, each of whom grace one of GQ’s four “Men of the Year” covers. GQ named Obama “Game Changer of the Year. The “Men of the Year” issue goes on sale nationally November 25, and will be online at men.style.com on Tuesday November 18. President-elect looks GREAT in this cover! LOVE IT!

The New York Times reports that The New Museum on the Lower East Side unveiled a portrait of Michelle Obama, the wife of President-elect Barack Obama, painted by Elizabeth Peyton, on Wednesday. The picture is entitled “Michelle and Sasha Obama Listening to Barack Obama at the Democratic National Convention August 2008″.
It is an oil painting that depicts Mrs. Obama in the audience at her husband’s convention speech as the couple’s younger daughter, Sasha, rests her head in her mother’s lap. The painting joins the New Museum’s exhibition “Live Forever: Elizabeth Peyton,” a collection of portraits of noteworthy personalities like Kurt Cobain, Matthew Barney, and Marc Jacobs. The exhibition is to run through Jan. 11. (more…)
Congrats to Barack and Michelle Obama as they celebrate their 16th wedding anniversary. Obama, who spoke at a rally in Abington, Pennsylvania, picked up the flowers before flying back home to Chicago, where he was planning a romantic dinner with Michelle. They married in Oct. 3, 1992 at Trinity United Church of Christ. How Cute!
I’m not really in to politics, but last night I watched Michelle Obama at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, and I must say I was really touch and impressed by her speech. Michelle Obama made a connection with everyone as she described herself as a daughter, a sister, a wife and a mother, no different from many women.
She spoke about her dreams for her two daughters… “I think about how one day, they’ll have families of their own. And one day, they — and your sons and daughters — will tell their own children about what we did together in this election. They’ll tell them how this time, we listened to our hopes, instead of our fears. How this time, we decided to stop doubting and to start dreaming,” she said. She was GREAT!
