We previously told you that Nas and Kelis were expecting their first child together. Nas made an announcement on Global Grind last Friday that he and wifey are expecting their FIRST SON together later this year.

Here’s what Nas had to say on Global Grind:

Yoooo! I’m back! I aint ever done this sh** before, but I got ya’ll, this will change in 2009. 2009 is the year of change. We have a black President, and what he has accomplished gives me hope for the future of our f****d up country.

Personally, life is good. I’m sure that y’all heard K is expecting. The internet seems to be more excited than I am. It’s crazy! I got too much to think about, and I didn’t wanna leave all my fans out the loop. But I wanted to let ya’ll know from me personally that I’m having my first SON!!!!!

I been celebrating life ya’ll. Also I want you all to know that the Nas and Damian Marley album is coming in the next few months. It’s something we have been secretly working on. Tour this summer too!

Congrats to Hip Hop couple Nas and Kelis. We hear that they are expecting their first child! A source reveals that Kelis, 29, and her hubby, Nasir, 35, are so excited about their first baby together! “It’s all they are talking about. She is carrying hip-hop royalty!” says the insider, who adds Kelis — currently in her first trimester — already has a little bump. “They are so excited.” The two got married in January of 2005. Despite rumors that Kelis was shaking her “milkshake” in somebody else’s year, Nas and Kelis have been going strong. Congrats again! (more…)

Kelis may be in some more trouble. She reportedly took a $20,000 advance to perform two shows Saturday in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, however, she was a no show! She said she feared for her safety. Nas and Kelis got into a big confrontation with Brazil paparazzi who bombared the star and her hubby, check out the video, LOL:

About a month ago, we reported that Wendy Williams xposed in a blind item report that an R&B singer was caught on tape having sexual relations with someone other than her “rapper” husband. Well after my readers and I debated back and forth, some of you were right…the R&B star that was “caught out there” was none other than, Kelis. Underground rapper, Infrared apparently got a taste of Kelis’ Milkshake while she was married to her rapper husband Nas. I haven’t seen the tape myself, but Williams and some others who had access to it have confirmed that it is indeed Kelis in the tape. We hear that the video doesn’t show much, but it does show Kelis taking a nap (naked) just after her and underground songwriter/rapper Infared had allegedly engaged in some sexual activities. Infared also films a monologue to the camera sending a message to rapper Nas saying “Handle your mother f#*king business. I got your b*&ch here, she getting naked.”

In a recent interview with with Hip Hop Weekly, Infrared says that he enjoyed an “encounter” with Kelis but did not reveal any details about the alleged tape.

“I knew Kelis in the hip hop world, and from clubbin’, hanging out,” said Infrared. “I heard that [sex tape] rumor. I don’t know [if she was married’. She wasn’t wearing a wedding ring.”

Infared goes on to insist he has not been confronted by Nas over the allegations…

Houston rapper Scarface announced that he was giving up the rap game after his next album Emeritus…But he said he would put out one more album only if he could put together a dream supergroup project between himself, Nas, and Ice Cube. Cube heard about the news and expressed his excitement about the possible project.

“Of course, I wouldn’t even think twice about doing that…hell yeah!” Ice Cube told AllHipHop.com. “I think the album would be crazy, lyrics would be sick, and Hip-Hop would love it. It’s just making that business happen, that’s the part that gets funky. I ain’t never turned down these kind of projects, they just don’t happen for whatever reasons.” (more…)

Kelis is a lucky girl! She was cleared of charges of disorderly conduct which stemmed from an incident that occured in Miami back in 2007.

As you may recall, Nas’ wife, Kelis, was arrested in Miami last year after confronting and verbally abusing two undercover officers during a police operation in the South Beach nightclub district.

By the year 2000, the hip-hop industry was comparable to a male football locker room. Most of the top executives were men, the majority of hip-hop artists were male, as were almost all of the producers, video directors, engineers and DJs. That basically left video model or personal assistant as the most likely career option for a woman. But as a female, if you were successful, and rose to the top of the corporate ladder, your reputation became that much more vulnerable. If you looked halfway decent, then the misconception was that you slept your way to the top. On the contrary, if you were not easy on the eyes, then you must either have been gay or related to someone. As a woman, I knew it would be hard to beat the odds. But because I had put so much time in, I wasn’t about to let the odds come between me and what I wanted.

But a woman doesn’t only have her resume to worry about, she’s also got her reputation, and when it comes to a woman’s reputation in the business of hip-hop, it’s almost customary to define her by the men she’s been linked to. Pick up any hip-hop magazine and compare the stories done on women to those done on men. I guarantee you’ll find out more about he woman’s past sex life than you will about the man’s. That code doesn’t just apply to celebrities, it’s the same behind the scenes as well. For me, it was no different. The more successful I became in the industry, the harder it became to keep people out of my personal business.

My days and nights revolved around the magazine and around hip-hop, and my social network was composed of people who were just as obsessed with money, power and hip-hop as I was. Therefore, the majority of the men that I met along the way had some sort of function in the music industry. But in this particular sect of the industry, known to us as the hip-hop culture, the usual double standard applied to women is administered in much bigger doses. Once Snoop said “Bitches Ain’t Shit,” it was a wrap for us…
