Plies, born Algernod Washington, has been named as one of several defendants in a lawsuit filed by five Gainesville, FL residents in the Alachua County civil courthouse yesterday. The plaintiffs, who were injured during a 2006 shooting at a Plies concert, are seeking $10 million dollars in damages. “If they’re suing Mr. Washington, they’re suing the wrong person,” Plies attorney Robert Rush said. Plies debut his new video for his single “Who Hotter Than Me” off his sophomore album “Definition of Real” which will hit stores June 10th!
Plies released a statement today that he will be releasing his sophomore album titled The Definition of Real this summer. The album’s first single, “Bust It Baby Pt. 2”, features R&B crooner Ne-Yo and was added to radio this week. (Listen Below). The Definition of Real will hit stores June 24th via Big Gates/Slip-N-Slide/Atlantic Records. He is also planning on a prison tour. Dates will be revealed soon. (more…)

The manager of rapper Plies was arrested on Tuesday for possession of over 80 pounds of cocaine in Tampa, Florida. Police seized the cocaine from David Lee Gay Jr. and various associates last night, after another associate was caught selling cocaine to an undercover police officer. Gay, 35, worked for Isabomb Entertainment. (more…)
A concert promoter in Montgomery, Alabama won a default judgment Plies. Patrick Monifston of P Entertainment Promotions filed the lawsuit against Plies on July 16, claiming the rapper failed to appear at a July 8 show. (more…)
