This time he isn’t in trouble yall! LOL. R. Kelly is suing two Los Angeles club promoters for using his name and image to promote an event without his permission. Kelly says this constitutes “false advertising” because he knew nothing about the party. Kelly isn’t seeking a set amount but it will be a minimum of $25,000 dollars and wants an amount that will “stop defendants’ … disgorgement of ill-gotten gains.”
WOW! So R&B singer Joe revealed some juicy scoop on his situation at Jive Records and his label mate R. Kelly. Joe has been with Jive for the past 11 years but never was as successful as he should have been even after six album. He recently decided to branch off and go the independent route as most artist do if they don’t make it “big” under an established label.
Joe said after he left Jive, he found out why he never really progressed while signed to the label that launched the success of Alicia Keys, Britney Spears, his label mate R. Kelly & much more. The reason he says…R. Kelly himself! Joe tells EUR’s Lee Baily in an x-clusive interview that R. Kelly put pressure on Jive executives and radio stations to fall back on promoting Joe’s records especially when his single’s got to much attention.
“R. Kelly was very instrumental in making a lot of decisions when it came to my records being played on the radio,” Joe revealed. “He would make a call to the radio station or to the label and say, ‘Hey, this Joe record is too hot right now. Yall need to pull that back.’ And they would oblige.” (more…)
Rumor has it that R. Kelly is dating Jo Jo Simmons ex-girlfriend. The chick’s name is “Baby” and we hear she is only 19 years old. I guess R. Kelly can’t get enough of the youngins’…I have yet to confirm this news, so as previously stated its a “rumor”!!!
However, in related news, songs from R. Kelly’s upcoming LP “12 Play 4th Quarter” were leaked on the internet yesterday. He sure came out with some suggestive songs for being recently acquitted of child pornography charges. I guess he can’t change what he is best known for….
Both MTV and Billboard mentioned the amount of sexual content in the leaked material – which includes the tracks “Screamer,” “At the Same Time,” “Two Seater” and “Son of a B*tch.” (more…)
Sparkle, the R&B singer who worked with R. Kelly back in the day, went on the ‘LIVE with Kendra G. and DJ Touchtone’ show on 100.3 THE BEAT in Philly and spoke about how she felt about the R. Kelly trial and the verditct.
Sparkle, who testified for the prosecution during the child pornography case. She told Kendra G. and DJ Touchtone that she was surprised about the verdict, but didn’t want to see R. Kelly go to jail, rather she thought he needed some type of psychological help. (more…)
Recently unsealed documents state that one of R. Kelly’s associates was plotting to kill the State’s star witness, Lisa Van Allen.
Lisa Van Allen, the woman who claimed she had three-way sex with Kelly and the alleged victim in the case, revealed in pretrial docs that an “employee” of R. Kelly said she should’ve been killed for revealing any information on the singer. No charges were ever filed, and Kelly was acquitted last week of all the child-porn charges. (more…)
You’ll find this interesting. 12 jurors who were involved in the R. Kelly child porn trial said that they were all in agreement that it was R. Kelly on that sex tape, but they could not find him guilty because there was not enough evidence to prosecute him and there was “reasonable doubt”.
TMZ says that five of the jurors actually spoke to reporters after the acquittal and said there were unable to reach a verdict because the victim refuse to cooperate and testify. (more…)

R. Kelly is off the hook. The R&B sensation has been found NOT GUILTY on all counts relative the the child pornography trial. Judge Gaughan read the verdict at 2:00 p.m. Friday.
As you know, Kelly was charged with 14 counts of videotaping himself having sex with an underage girl, who prosecutors say was as young as 13. If convicted, he faces a minimum of four years in prison and a maximum of 15 years. (more…)
R. Kelly revealed to the judge in his “child pornography” trial that he does not plan on testifying. Yesterday, after Judge Vincent Gaughan told Kelly he had a right to not testify, the R&B singer leaned forward at the defense table with his hands folded and – speaking for the first time at the trial – responded: “I decided not to testify.” The jury was not in the courtroom. Both Kelly and the alleged victim have denied being the people on the alleged videotape.

Defense attorneys rested their case after two days of testimony in the R. Kelly trial.
R. Kelly’s attorney, Ed Genson, wrapped things up early Monday without calling any witnesses to the stand. Jurors were sent home that day.
Today, prosecutors plan to call two rebuttal witnesses. According to the Chicago Tribune, one is Grant Frederics, a forensic video analyst who found what appeared to be a mole on the back of the man in the sex tape. (more…)
According to the Chicago Times, 3 relatives of the girl who allegedly appears in a sex videotape with R&B superstar R. Kelly took the stand Wednesday — and each said the girl on the tape is not their family member.
Shonna Edwards, 27, said she was formerly in a singing group with her cousin, who prosecutors allege is the underage girl in the tape. The group toured throughout Europe in the late 1990s, she said.
“Was the female in the [sex] tape your cousin?” asked defense lawyer Ed Genson.
“No, she definitely wasn’t her,” Edwards said. (more…)
